Justice Department to Monitor Elections in Texas
USDOJ ^ | May 25, 2012 | STAFF

Posted on 05/25/2012 10:25:30 PM PDT by Rabin

The Justice Department announced today that it will monitor primary elections on May 29, 2012, in Fort Bend, Harris and Jefferson Counties in Texas, to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and other federal voting rights statutes. The Voting Rights Act prohibits discrimination in the election process on the basis of race, color or membership in a minority language group. In addition, the act requires certain covered jurisdictions to provide language assistance during the election process.

"Language assistance?"

WTF?

Why would anyone who is an American Citizen need "language assistance?"

Oh, I get it: those who are here and "UNDOCUMENTED" and have not gotten around to learn our language (and more than likely are NOT eligible to vote, but as they need not show any ID, will be allowed anyway) may need "assistance" to show them which "Demo-Rat" they should vote for.

Nuttin to see here folks; just move along, its the new norm so get used to it.

Why not simply prohibit ANY discrimination at all?

May God bless Bill and rest his soul. What a hero and patriot we have lost with his passing.

Not the first time they’ve been in Texas to monitor elections. There were here on May 12, 2012 to monitor municipal elections in Dallas, Galveston and Jasper Counties.

I hate to say it, but it’s almost a given that there is going to be trouble in Harris Co. This fed monitoring is part of the plan.

So does this mean they can stop the voting if they see something they don't like? For instance, white voters wearing Pro-Life buttons or white voters wearing American flag lapel pins or white voters wearing crucifixes or white voters in general? Would they get upset if black voters are holding “voting guides” that tell them who to vote for? Would they get upset if Hispanics are wearing any representation of the flag of Mexico? Would they get upset if any race wore a Romney 2012 pin? How about a Obama 2012 pin?
We all know the answer to that. ALL OF THIS CRAP COMES TO A ROARING STOP IF VOTER I.D. LAWS ARE ENACTED. But voter I.D. laws need teeth. How about the first punishment for possessing or providing a false voter I.D. is immediate forfeiture of all property and possessions along with immediate deportation. Hispanics could be returned to their native countries, African-Americans to Northern Sudan (I hear they need more cannon fodder), and all others to their true hearts desires, Mother Russia?
The way you handle a cancer is you cut it out or you poison the body to make the cancer die or you irradiate it. I vote for options 1 and 3.

The fact that they don’t care about absentee and early tells me the fix is IN for those three areas.

From the article:

“.....the act requires certain covered jurisdictions to provide language assistance during the election process.”

It appears this is looking at language helpers in these three counties. Next thing is you may see ballots printed in various languages..

I was one of those “white poll watchers” Thursday and Friday after work this week. We thought things were going OK.
I pointed out one lady who first answered honestly the question “do you still live at this address?” and then was allowed to vote saying she still had property in Dallas County - the election clerks didn’t know what to do with me standing there. The election judge was nowhere to be found at the moment. They allowed her to vote. I later realized she should have been given a provisional ballot. There were -0- provisional ballots during two weeks of early voting at this location...

I must say that Republican voters outnumbered Democrat voters almost 3 to 1 during the entire voting period.(I witnessed shutting down the machines and wrote down the numbers.) Republican voters also were the most able voters - the only voters needing “assistance” were Democrats.

This was the first time hubby & I have poll-watched and we didn’t think much was happening because of our presence UNTIL (while I was following the election judge around getting numbers) the alternate judge(?) spoke to my husband and told him that, when we showed up, EVERYTHING changed! She said she was invisible until we got there. She thanked him for us showing up! Made our day.

There ARE Democrats who care about the process!

“The Sheriff of each of these counties should announce that they will be personally monitoring the Just-us Dept.folks”

You’ve got the right idea. The governor should send Texas Rangers to watch the federal fascists to be certain they don’t engage in voter fraud or stuff ballot boxes. It’s time for states to take the gloves off.

...and Jefferson Counties in Texas...
Oh, now I know something "hinky" is going on.
On a county by county comparison this county has been alone in a sea of the opposite color for years.
This is from the 2008 election and Jefferson County (Beaumont is the largest city) is the red county on the lower right, just to the right of Harris County (Houston is the largest city), the other red county.

There is a rather large black population block here and they don't seem to have ever had a problem in the past with voting.

Here is the county by county map for 2004 for comparison.

Still red. Even Harris County was blue that time.

And here for 2000. (sorry, no individual Sate map for then that I can find) You know where to look by now.

Blue in a sea of red.

...to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and other federal voting rights statutes.
So this "excuse" is nothing more than a bald-faced lie.

IMO it's now known that this county may finally change colors and it's worrisome so reinforcements are being sent in to insure a win again.

Talk about an obvious tell!

To all TEXAS Primary voters: List the top 10 demonstrated positive values for each Candidate for all offices, and vote accordingly.

BTW, let us make this a “clothespin-free” election!

If you value your vote, then vote your values!
