I’ve had a couple of molar crowns done in gold before gold was anywhere near what it is now. It’s a rather soft smooth metal and works wonderfully for a crown. I wouldn’t get any in my front teeth thought.

I can understand that gold works well but I have never seen a white fellow with a face full of gold and diamonds
Just sayin.
I had a gold crown that outlasted newer porcelain crowns; in fact, it outlasted my teeth. One of many reasons that gold is precious.
