the story says ..the “children” pointed a rifle at the clerks head, while they "the children" beat and kicked the living snot at of him...the clerk at one point grabbed the rifle from the "child" and shot him in the stomach...

The point is, if they are retreating he can’t use deadly force. I’m sure the police will give him every break. But calling these thug punks “children” is not a good PR start.
