Wisconsin's progressivism faces a recall
By Nick Carey and Brendan O'Brien | Reuters Fri, 25 May, 2012
COLUMBUS, Wisc. (Reuters) - Tea Party activist Larry Gamble has spent the last few months leading an effort to disqualify the signatures of some of the 1 million residents who petitioned to recall Wisconsin's governor, Republican Scott Walker. The petition protests Walker's Act 10, which eliminates collective bargaining rights for most public workers, among other anti-union measures.
Gamble helped launch a "Verify the Recall" website that drew in 17,000 volunteer sleuths to scour public records for fraud. He says they uncovered about 100,000 suspicious signatures using scanned, publicly available copies of the petitions. Although the findings were not sufficient to halt a recall election for Walker, it electrified Wisconsin's grassroots conservatives by uncovering the names of judges, journalists and others who appeared to have signed the recall petition in breach of their own professional codes of ethics.
Gamble finds this level of civic activism where he lives unremarkable.

Seems to me there should be some refinement of the rules...
If the percentage of false sigs exceeds some benchmark, regardless of how many sigs beyond the required minimum, then the petition should fail. To further reduce hanky-panky, signature sheets should be distributed and filed only by the original petition filers, so that SEIU types don’t feel the need to be involved in conservative petitions.
I prefer calling them “Regressives”. Governor Walker is the TRUE “progressive”.
But Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz says if that happens it will mean nothing for the Democrats anywhere else. /sarc
With 100,000 suspicious signatures, there ought to be at least handful that are suitable for publication. When was the last time you saw Donald Duck’s signature?
Just across the pond (LK MI.) the taxpayers are getting pretty sick of the public sector unions, and the RATS hold zero power in any office of the whole freaking state.
Not GOV,House, Senate, SoS, AG, Courts, nothing zero zip. The bastards here are plenty worried about how the WI election turns out.
That would make sense, but in Wisconsin the"rules" are stacked against Conservatives. Elections are overseen in Wisconsin by something called the Government Accountability Board, all the members of which were appointed by our previous crooked Democratic Governor.
They would not even allow the findings of Verify the Recall to be considered in their review of petitions, and instead, had initially ruled that if Donald Duck signed from a legitimate address, his signature would be counted.
That would make sense, but in Wisconsin during the last 8 years of total Democrat control, the "rules" have been stacked against Conservatives. Elections are overseen in Wisconsin by something called the Government Accountability Board, all the members of which were appointed by our previous crooked Democratic Governor.

Scott Walker and the Republican Legislature have accomplished miracles, but there is much much much more to be done. Pray not only for his reelection, but for that of the four State Senators facing recall as well.
When is this election this Tuesday?
From what I have read this is an exaggeration and a misleading statement.
Supposedly it limits, but does not eliminate, collective bargaining rights for some public workers to wage issues only.
And we all know that action was precipitated by gross abuse of the power, amounting to extortion, by the labor unions.
They should keep examining those petitions. They could be full of all sorts of useful information, such as the names and addresses of people with outstanding warrants, with overdue child support, who are registered to vote in another state (Illinois), illegal aliens, and people who apparently live 50 to a single house or apartment.
As such, this list can also be compared with voter rolls, to see if people are voting who should not be voting. At that point, they are committing crimes.
Compulsory collective bargaining is a violation of others’ economic rights, it’s not a right.
