There are no private vehicles in North Korea, the roads are almost always empty except for the traffic cops directing imaginary traffic.

re Kirov/Nikolaev, I had never encountered this story. I read Wikipedia FWIW, and found it quite amazing. The more things HopeyChange...
Found it particularly touching that Uncle Joe was a pallbearer at Kirov's funeral. Wonder if he sent a bill for the bullet?

I’ve seen some very convincing documentaries on Patton and the accident injury , his death and the lack of an autopsy is perfectly believable in the context provided. He had pre-existing injuries that made him susceptible to this kind of thing, the true cause of death was known and his widow did not want an autopsy.
