Yet when summer comes, they all get “laid off” causing panic in press, propaganda that we need to raise taxes, etc., meanwhile the “laid off” teachers collect “unemployment” for the summer, lay around and play around until they get rehired in the fall (always unreported) and still complain about being underpaid/hard job/underappreciated etc......
In 2004-2005, K-12 education accounted for $536 BILLION in spending. That is a significant chunk of our tax dollars.
And yes, I would also like to see some light shed on how government money is spent. Particularly on how grant money is issued.
