The late Andrew Breitbart saw in Ted Cruz the future of the conservative movement.
On paper, Cruz seems like someone out of central casting, perfectly put together to represent conservatism’s future. His father fled oppression in Cuba for freedom in America. He grew up immersing himself in the works of Frederick Bastiat, F.A. Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, and Milton Friedman, earning scholarships by giving speeches about their ideas. He went to Princeton and Harvard law without losing the common touch. He racked up legal victories that helped defend the Second Amendment and America’s sovereignty against the World Court.
But while Breitbart admired these things about Cruz, they were not why, after speaking with the conservative GOP Texas senate candidate (Texas's primary is on Tuesday) at what would be his last Conservative Political Action Conference, Breitbart told close friends and associates that Cruz represented conservatism’s future. It was because Breitbart saw in Cruz, first and foremost, a fighter who was fierce, principled, uncompromising, and relentless. These were the characteristics Breitbart first looked for and those who were a part of the “Army of Davids” had in spades.
Stephen K. Bannon, the filmmaker who was one of Breitbart’s closest friends and whose movies have captured the fierce and patriotic spirit of Jacksonian Tea Partiers, always remembered how effusively Andrew Breitbart “admired the fact that Ted Cruz was a fighter and came from a family of fighters.” Breitbart also knew, when he learned how Cruz had been “preaching the gospel of constitutional limited government since he was a teenager all across Texas,” that fighting for constitutional conservatism was in Cruz’s bones. He knew Cruz was the real deal and not a poseur.

FReepers favor Cruz at least 20 to 1 and there is a reason. Dewhurst is just a party line vote and would just bring more of the Bush-era spending that got Republicans kicked out of office.
Cruz has promised to stand up for limited government and the Constitution and has the record to support it.

Lots of people have put off voting because the list of races is so long & the presidential nom is so uninspiring. Here’s hoping they vote tomorrow instead of blowing it off completely.
Harvard Lawyer Cruz I’m sure has the vote of every shyster out there.
And Cruz’ use of the Alinsky method has probably worked in pulling the wool over the eyes of a majority of the Freepers who are trying to build the Sarah Palin/Jim DeMint/George P. Bush political coalition.
And here are your key words “Cruz has promised”. and campaign promises are he has to offer.
Other than debating the point of view of whoever will pay him to take their side in a verbal argument. BFD!

You are welcome. If you were as diligent you would have not bought into the lie that Dewhurst is the establishment candidate when the exact opposite is true, that Cruz is the establishment candidate.
But I say that, not to try to make you angry, just to try to get you to reconsider, even though I can tell you are all but certain you have this race all figured out.
David Dewhurst has not been endorsed by the Bushes, Cruz has. David Dewhurst is not the Ivy League Lawyer in this race, Cruz is. Cruz is the friend of George P. Bush, not Dewhurst. Cruz has worked for Government all his life* - Dewhurst made it in private business before entering politics and has always represented Texas and would go to the US Senate to represent Texas - not the Harvard Lawyers Guild and Goldman-Sachs like Cruz will.

These are aiming to build their OWN political coalition and they are backing Cruz as part of that coalition.
What you can trust Cruz to do is try to lead the tea-party into the direction he and the GOPe think the tea-party should go!
David Dewhurst is the man you can trust to see to the interests of the State of Texas and Texans, not Cruz.
Under Perry/Dewhurst leadership, we've seen ever increasing illegal immigration. Toll road scheme that will suck even more hard earned dollars from working citizens.

Under Perry/Dewhurst leadership, their lil pet project, Trans-Texas corridor would have stolen thousands of acres of farm and ranch land that's been in some of these Texans families since the founding of the republic. Just so we could move more foreign goods into the country via Mexico.
Perry/Dewhurst supported the Mexican trucker pilot program, now Mexican trucker program which diverts goods from American ports, American trucks to Mexican counterparts.
Let's see, under Perry/Dewhurst, in state tuition has been granted to kids of illegal immigrants. Our men and woman in uniform stationed in Texas were not even afforded the same opportunity at the time the legislation passed.
Perry/Dewhurst leadership failed time and again to end the absurd Sanctuary City declarations within Texas.
Perry/Dewhurst sent a few token guardsmen to the border mainly in support and clerical positions, yet touted they were tough on illegal immigration. Just not true. Our border with Mexico is as porous as it has always been.
Property taxes under Perry/Dewhurst are sapping hard working homeowners while illegals get by slipping under the rug of the underground economy. Target those who do not belong here, not homeowners.
Under Perry/Dewhurst leadership, illegal aliens are still allowed to pull millions of dollars from our economy via Western Union transfers....back home, you know, to Mexico.
Perry/Dewhurst failed to support Arizona and Gov. Brewer while she attempted to get a handle on illegal immigration in her state, protecting Arizona's citizens. I think Perry said, “This law is not right for Texas”.
Huh? Not right for Texas? Tough on immigration not right for Texas?
I don't say these things to hurt your feelings or to anger you. I say them to help you understand that your candidates ARE the establishment.
You may parse words all ya like there fella, but attempting to portray Cruz as the establishment is....well, laughable.
Just got home from voting and it felt good to vote for Cruz.
The ballot had all of the previous candidates still listed so it felt kind of sad to see some good names left behind...Bachmann, for instance.
So, I hit Romney, and later on hit, Cruz.
Don’t know if this is good or not, but there weren’t any lines AT ALL at the Republican voting location. Did people just feel it wasn’t worth it since our primary is today, May 29th and other primaries just kind of put Texas in the shadow of ..... “so what does it matter if Texans vote, it is pretty much over so why waste the time.”
I think more highly of Texans, but where were they today?

Now you are making things up to try to blame the Texas republican leadership for and everything you would or would not have done if you were Emperor. That is a serious sign that you have no idea whatsoever what it takes to make society and government actually work.
At first, I thought perhaps you just did not know. Now it is obvious you are not saying anything in good faith, because you are doing such a good job of mixing a tiny bit of what happened in the process of governing with outright falsehoods, that maybe you should look for a job with the Romney campaign.
