Obama pledges no more wars unless "absolutely necessary" Photo 1:00pm EDT

ARLINGTON, Virginia (Reuters) - President Barack Obama honored veterans on Monday by noting "the light of a new day" of having U.S. troops home from Iraq and returning soon from Afghanistan, while promising not to send soldiers back to war without a clear need.

Obama did not mention tension with Iran and Syria in his remarks to veterans and military families at a hot, sunny Memorial Day ceremony, focusing instead on the wars started by his predecessor, George W. Bush, that he wound down as president.

"After a decade under the dark cloud of war, we can see the light of a new day on the horizon," he said at Arlington National Cemetery, drawing applause when he noted the "milestone" of it being the first Memorial Day in nine years without Americans fighting and dying in Iraq.

"As commander in chief, I can tell you that sending our troops into harm's way is the most wrenching decision that I have to make," Obama said shortly after laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

"I can promise you I will never do so unless it is absolutely necessary and that when we do, we must give our troops a clear mission and the full support of a grateful nation."

Necessary: for example if his poll numbers dropped during an election year.

It seems to have escaped his notice that if we don’t pin down terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq, they’ll make their way to New York, Philadelphia, and, yes, even Washington.

Moreover, having thrown Israel under the bus and supported, and even subsidized, terrorist organizations throughout the Middle East in the overthrow of their governments in the so-called “Arab Spring,” he foolishly believes the Moslems will see us as “good guys” and be grateful accordingly.

Bull. Sh*t.

The enemies of this century are most certainly NOT going to show up off Cape Cod or Monterey in landing craft, and they’re certainly NOT going to issue a declaration of war before they strike.

Obama is, unfortunately, an ignoramus who has learned nothing from history.

At a Gas Station I once asked a Woman who had a “War is not the answer” bumper sticker on her Car, “well, what is the answer?”

She glared at me, called me an A Hole and drove off.

It appears that people think they can make a statement by wearing a T Shirt, putting a Bumper Sticker on their car or putting up a Yard Sign without having a clue of what they are representing.

When I make a statement, such as the “Antiobamunist On Board” sticker in my car's rear window, I welcome anyone to ask me for clarification. To my chagrin, they never do.

This is much like Obama’s Memorial Day Speech. Obama’s best friends were the ones he was speaking of and he thinks nobody makes the connection. What an ignorant little man child we have running the place. He makes Bill Ayers proud.

I guess the war on Fox News was absolutely necessary.

Funny how he can’t even honor our war dead on memorial Day, of all days, without politicizing a solemn day and dissing President Bush.
