With a line-up that includes Drew Barrymore, David Beckham, Orlando Bloom, and Ricky Martin, the UN's choice of ambassadors has been known to cause raised eyebrows or the odd smirk.
Seldom, however, has there been such anger, or questioning of the organisation's credibility, as that greeting the appointment of a new international envoy for tourism: Robert Mugabe.
Improbable as it seems, the Zimbabwean president, who is widely accused of ethnic cleansing, rigging elections, terrorising opposition, controlling media and presiding over a collapsed economy, has been endorsed as a champion of efforts to boost global holidaymaking.

This is certainly good news for tourism.
I’m more than mildly surprised that the American President Barack Hussein Obama didn’t create an office for tourism and offer that to Mugabee.
Mugabee, of course, is the president of that progressive African nation, Zimbabwe. (Or is it Zimbabyou, or Zimbabme?) At any rate he’d do tourism a big favor in his nation if he’d exile himself and all his cronies out of Zimbabyou and rename it Rhodesia.
When we throw Obama out of the WH, he will become a prime candidate for Secy General of the UN..Just watch. He has all the qualifications..
I wouldn't go that far. This is the UN we're talking about.
Look on the bright side. They appointed Muammar Gaddafi to the U.N. Human Rights Council a couple of years ago, and look what happened to him.

This is some of the crap US Taxpayer dollars are going to at the UN? How many US families get by week to week? Job to job?
At this point, I really wouldn’t be surprised if Pres. Urkel appoints a Tourism Czar.

Those planning to visit Zimbabwe might want to take a full supply of MREs. Since Bobby M. has redistributed the farms FROM folks who actually KNEW how to farm to those without a clue, food is in short supply.
