ABC's Barbara Walters to Michelle Obama: 'Will Racism be a Part of This Campaign?'
Newsbuster.com ^ | May 29, 2012 | Jeffrey Mayer

Appearing on Tuesday’s edition of The View, First Lady Michelle Obama was greeted with a liberal talking point from program host Barbara Walters.  The first lady, who was on the program promoting her new book on healthy eating, was immediately asked by Walters about the impact of being the first black first family in the White House will have on the upcoming election.

Walters decided that injecting race into the conversation up front is best, as this has become a typical liberal talking point of late.  She asked Mrs. Obama, “Do you think, in this campaign, which is getting fairly ugly, that racism is still going to be a part of it?”  [Video follows page break

For her part, the first lady gave a diplomatic answer and didn’t fall into the liberal game Walters was trying to play.  Walters then went on to ask Mrs. Obama the question again after she failed to give an appropriate answer.

Walters, like others in the liberal media have consistently tried to weave a narrative of electoral racism as a convenient excuse for opposition to President Obama's reelection, using this tactic to minimize the serious criticisms millions of Americans have with President Obama on his political ideology, his policies, and his performance as president.

BARBARA WALTERS: You are also in a special position, and we've talked about this before because your husband is our first black president. You are our first black first lady. Do you think, in this campaign, which is getting fairly ugly, that racism is still going to be a part of it?

MICHELLE OBAMA:  Yeah. I think people -- you know, want to know that we live in a country where there's fairness and equity, where people have a fair shot. You know, where kids like myself who grew up with parents that didn't go to college. Didn't have all the opportunities. Went to public schools that we all have an opportunity to succeed. And I think people are focused on that. For me, I know that I'm focused on the world that I want to leave for my kids.

WALTERS: But do you think that racism is going to play a part in this campaign?

OBAMA: You know, racism is still an issue in this country. But I'll tell you right now, Barack Obama is President of the United States. And he's done a phenomenal job.  And this country -- this country put him in office.

JOY BEHAR: And they will again.

OBAMA: Exactly. Absolutely.

I think it was racist of Barbara Walters to wear a jungle print skirt for Michelle Obama's appearance.

For a fact, she never once wore a jungle print skirt when interviewing any other first ladies.

So racist. So, so racist of her. I'm sickened by her racism.

I'm confused.

For liberals, it's ok for 99% of one race to vote solely on the basis of a person's skin color?

Yes Barbara, racism and playing the race card will be key to reelecting a proven failure and incompetent like my husband

Of course it will be.In the 3.5 years since we elected him with 53% of the vote a tidal wave of racism has swept the electorate. What else could be responsible for the upcoming loss? Unemployment is basically zero, food stamps are a thing of the past, they're just about giving gasoline away these days,Iran has been firmly dealt with....

They have already run on racism and white guilt. It is what put Obama in to office. Many people (not me) thought they could pay for the past by electing a black skin toned guy. They let him in to their living rooms. They thought he was smart and clean and kinda like Will Smith. He was not though. Obama came in to the living room, sat down, rolled a blunt and smoked it. After doing a line of blow he took the keys to the car and wrecked the thing. But not before he maxed out everbodys credit cards that he stole before he left the house. When people asked why he did all that stuff he chuckled and pointed to a guy named George. A guy who looks damn good now.

Obama or whatever his real name is must leave the house. People don't want the little gangster around anymore. He will be defeated in the largest landslide of any presidential race in modern history. Including Jimmy Carter's.

“Michelle, when did you stop beating your husband?”

Short answer, she never will. She has been the dominant one since the day they first met, and has never let him forget for a second.

I think he is genuinely afraid of her. She is, after all, his controller for the larger Shadow Party that was behind his “meteoric” rise in political fortunes, and he stands to suffer most grieviously should he falter at any juncture.

Walters is proud of the fact that she had an affair with married Senator Edward Brooke.

True, but they can’t help themselves. They will continue to play the race card.

IMHO, Obama was “hired” because he was black. Hopefully, he’ll be “unhired” because he’s incompetent.

Yeah exactly - what is she doing wearing some kind of leopard skin to an interview with the Momma Obama? And aren’t leopards a protected species? BaBa WaWa shame, shame!

Of course racism will be used in the Obama campaign. The first time around they used his white half to get his black half elected and now they intend to use his black half to get his white half elected. Thereby completing the daily double - SCOAMFOTUS in both races.
