Too many parents use that extra time not to get their bags stowed and their children settled, but to let loose their precious monkeys to climb and bounce on the seats, play in the aisles, and/or hover over the seat backs, sliming the passengers behind them. Of course the real problem isn’t antsy kids, but the enabling parents who put it upon strangers to enforce civility.
And they generally are more polite afterwards, and want to know about the rank and ribbons.
NCOs were invented because parents fail.
