Remember, that the Democrats had both Houses the last two years of the Bush presidency and they were hell bent to sabotage anything good coming from the WH.

But it was the GOP that passed prescription coverage, expanded Medicare and Medicaide and eneacted No Child Left Behind. They also spent like drunk sailors in a whore house and Bush signed all the checks.

Romney needs distance between him and W. If W ever shows his face on the campaign trail it will cost Romney votes every time. As much as I like and admire George W Bush on a personal level I think his presidency was by and large a failure and a disappointment.

and also paid for two wars that I think were right and needed. Also, he built back the armed forces that had been seriously depleted during the Clinton years; built the US defense and anti-terror capabilities in both domestic and foreign arenas. Nurtured the nation back to overcome the 911 trauma, holding the economic sector together during which was tottering after the attack.

However you are correct on the domestic spending programs.
