Obama senior adviser David Axelrod was met with protests from Romney supporters at a press event in Massachusetts today. A frustrated Axelrod, who was shouted down, tells the protesters "they can't handle the truth."
After his brief remarks, Axelrod asked for questions from the press but was met with more banter from Romney protesters with slogans like "where are the jobs?"
"You can't handle the truth, my friends. That's the problem. If you can handle the truth, then you quiet down," Axelrod said.

Reminds me of back in 1993-94 when Hillary tried to launch a public campaign to suppport her healthcare reform plan. She started in Seattle and a large group of protestors showed up and ruined the event. They tried turning on a fountain in the public square to drown out the protestors, but they just took the opportunity to start chanting “Whitewater!” Ha ha ha. Hillary’s road tour ended very soon afterward.
Anyway, same thing here, good portent for GOP chances this year.

I actually would have liked for him to elaborate. What is the truth David? We’re a wholly owned subsidiary of the House of Saud and the Chinese Politburo? Your boss is an America-hating agent of a foreign power bent on destroying the nation? Exactly what is this “truth” we can’t handle?

I think the truth is slowly dawning upon the Obama cabal that the opponent this time doesn’t fear a toe-to-toe battle as McCain did in 2008. This isn’t quite what they expected.
I haven’t been a backer of Romney, but he and his campaign are showing some surprising tenacity in engaging the enemy on a variety of fronts. Ever since the WaPo tried to make noise about his high school days in 1965 (which failed miserably), Romney has mostly controlled the narrative for several days, throwing the 0-boy back on his heels.... even to the point of using street tactics like those in Boston.
After the McCain disaster of four years ago, this is a refreshing development.
The man you serve, Axlerod is afraid to make an apology when he errors...you need to clean house before going after others.
