WARSAW, Poland (AP) President Barack Obama has written a letter to the Polish president expressing "regret" for an inadvertent verbal gaffe that caused a storm of controversy in Poland this week.
Obama on Tuesday used the expression "a Polish death camp" while honoring a Polish World War II resistance hero rather than wording that would have made clear that he meant a death camp that Nazi Germany operated on Polish soil during its wartime occupation of Poland.

How’s this for a non-apology apology:
“Polish and English are very different languages. “Polish death camp” is a contraction of “Nazi-operated deathcamps located on Polish soil.”
/S
Uh, Mr Sikorski, using the word re-education in this manner is considered a pretty big gaff in the US sir.
The Kenyan only expresses regret that he got caught.
Memo to the dear leader: Polish death camps in English means Polish death camps in Polish. And I don’t even know Polish!
ALso, I think it is nitpicking, mainly due to the growing acceptance that Obama turned out to be a very, very poor choice for the job.
President Dumb@$$, they call those camps NAZI Death Camps. But I understand you prefer not to remind people that NAZI is an acronym for The National Socialist Party of Hitler’s Third Reich. Yeah, Dummycrats cannot figure out that you are a Socialist as was Hitler the Fascist and you are attempting to hide that fact by calling the NAZI Death Camps Polish Death Camps. It is either that or you are as stupid as the name you earned, President Dumb@$$.
Barbra Streisand. It was intentional directed by his favorite voting block. It wasn’t a “verbal gaffe”, since it had been written and presumably reviewed by a number of people (WHO?) having contained a number of historical data about the various recipients of the award. Don’t tell me that none of these people was aware of the previous instances of this “gaffe” by the US media (most notably the New York Times), and the diplomatic protests that they provoked! Unless of course the WH staff consists of various ghetto educated Trayvons and LaTrinas.
"I am sorry that you were offended when I said that the Death Camps were run by Poles."
Something about Polish gaffes and US Presidents.
Remember Gerald Ford and “the people of Poland are free and autonomous” disaster during the debate with Jimmeh ?
Probably cost him the election.
Wow . . . Could he possibly being sarcastic? Funny? I was taken aback at first read, but then this is exactly how socialist/communist breath, live and die in their culture. Hell we see it practice here regularly in the school system and to a degree in the court system
To be sure, I was very insistent that Obama's words were intentional. An underhand insult. Am glad to see the written apology and for myself matter closed.
OH, and one more thing, history buffs. The death camps were not “Nazi death camps”, as the Nazi, a political party in the country of Germany (which can be found somewhere on the map), did not own them or operate them. These mythical Nazis were not the ones who committed war crimes, it was, GASP!, German citizens. Let’s get rid of this Soviet invented political correction of Nazi this or that. It was, I’m afraid, German this or that.
Austrians shouldn't get a pass, neither....in fact, the most fanatical Nazis tended to be Austrian. Even before the Anschluss, the German Nazis had to tell the Austrian Nazis to tone it down.
Uh, gaff is written as ‘gaffe’ in the US, while “re-education” is a Communist concept that Mr Sikorski surely knows.
inadvertent? You mean the teleprompter made him say it?
Why?
Because it is an example - economic and culturally - how a country can prosper when it's despotic leadership is over thrown by ordinary people.
And that scares him.
Eastern Europe enjoys a degree of freedom today, largely because of the efforts of three men, two of which were Polish. The Pope at the time, President Ronald Reagan and Lech Wałęsa. All three of which obama has reason to hate.

0bama, ‘Don’t know much ‘bout history’, must have never have taken a course in US or European history, or else he probably got an F. How many historical and geographical gaffes has he made? Let’s see, his uncle in the US army liberated Auschwitz, Austrians speak Austrian, 57 states, navy ‘corpsemen’, Memorial Day celebration of veterans in the audience, among others. There have been too many historical and geographic gaffes, and this is just another incident that justifies a full release of his academic records.
Maybe President Romney after his inauguration will have to travel around the world apologizing for Obama...
