Obama Order Sped Up Wave of Cyberattacks Against Iran (wrongful bragging)

WASHINGTON — From his first months in office, President Obama secretly ordered increasingly sophisticated attacks on the computer systems that run Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facilities, significantly expanding America’s first sustained use of cyberweapons, according to participants in the program. Mr. Obama decided to accelerate the attacks — begun in the Bush administration and code-named Olympic Games — even after an element of the program accidentally became public in the summer of 2010 because of a programming error that allowed it to escape Iran’s Natanz plant and sent it around the world on the Internet. Computer security experts who began studying the worm, which had been developed by the United States and Israel, gave it a name: Stuxnet.

At a tense meeting in the White House Situation Room within days of the worm’s “escape,” Mr. Obama, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and the director of the Central Intelligence Agency at the time, Leon E. Panetta, considered whether America’s most ambitious attempt to slow the progress of Iran’s nuclear efforts had been fatally compromised.

“Should we shut this thing down?” Mr. Obama asked, according to members of the president’s national security team who were in the room.

Can we have one covert military action without the President bragging about it on the front page of the NY Times.

This did not need to be broadcast! Why dispense with this knowledge. Why instruct people about our defensive capabilities? It will also serve to breed further hate towards America among Middle Eastern nations and inspire further attacks.

He will diminish the nation's capabilities in defending itself as long as it gets him reelected. He will put the nation at risk if it helps him politically.

This situation and the naming of the double agent, and Team Six, and Osama Bin Laden and movies stars getting inside the Pentagon - it's a disgrace.

Hero's don't brag - whorish politicians do!

Another successful Bush program! The ONLY successes Obama can point to are those Bush programs he chose to continue. Why didn't we know about the Olympic Games program under Bush? Because the adults were in charge and knew about OpSec - Operational Security.

Now Obama needs to tout "his" success and the heck with any implications of the revelation - there is the Jewish vote to recapture! Or maybe the program worked too well and the traitors in the administration choose to cripple any future progress by putting it on the front page of the NYT. But you can bet there is a memo somewhere disassociating Obama with the program, said memo to be used if something went wrong.

even after an element of the program accidentally became public

What? Did the element fall out of a box or something? How badly was it damaged? Did someone unintentionally email it to the NYTimes? Did someone mistakenly post it on Facebook?

LOL

Reminds me of Carter giving away our Stealth technology which had been protected by 3 different administrations. He was in trouble for re-election so he tried to prove his pro defense positions. I hope the same results happen this election.

The One who has to brag about his supposed exploits proves his inadequacy, not to mention his treason.

Yeah, when the marxist thinks something will bring him votes, he takes credit and thumps his chest. On the other hand, when some issue has the potential to make the marxist look bad and lose votes, it's Bush's fault.

I can't wait for ‘lil barry and his wookie to move back to the sespool he came from.
