Warren is supposedly 1/32th Indian. So her mother was apparently 1/16th Indian. The idea her mother was seen as being Indian to the point of having to elope is not believable. If being part Indian subjected Oklahomans to discrimination, they would have tried to “pass” themselves off as pure white.
FYI, I supposedly am 1/16th Cherokee. No one would ever suspect me of being in any way Indian.
