An angry Mayor Rahm Emanuel rants about gangbangers, the shocking availability of handguns, and promises a new police strategy to deal with the gun violence. Meanwhile, national leaders, fearful of offending vital constituencies, pander to "right to bear arms" advocates and refuse to address the most urgent issue in urban America.
--our most urgent issue?

It looks like “the created situation” is moving along nicely.

I’ve always been against gun control but animals shouldn’t own guns.

The comments section at the article are terrific. As usual, they are about 80% against the paper, and pro RKBA. (No wonder the dinosaur MSM is dying.)

and refuse to address the most urgent issue in urban America. The most urgent issue in urban America is the absence of the traditional nuclear family. This is the PRIMARY issue, and until this is addressed, efforts to address only the consequent secondary issues (violence, theft, child abuse, welfare, etc) are doomed to failure.

Pander? To a Constitutional Amendment?

That’s because people with common sense (often lacking in the media and academia) know that firearms are used in only 10% of violent crimes. What are the Dems and their lackeys doing about the other 90% of violent crimes? Not much.
If homeowners in Chicago and Cook County had the same Castle Doctrine as in Texas, crime would go down because criminals, including those in politics, fear law-abiding gun owners.

Would love to know the size of the security detail the other day when Baraq and ValJ were strolling down the street in Hyde Park.......

Probably 500 officers and agents +/-.

--yep--same thing happens to the Milwaukee J-S whenever they do one of the doctrinare anti-gun pieces---

In Detroit, defensive shootings are on the rise and that’s a good thing in my book.

No, right here in Chicago. Over the holiday weekend, our city was like a Wild West shooting gallery, with blood flowing in the streets. No, it was like Chicago or Detroit or Philadelphia or Washington D.C. or any other 'rat hellhole.

You are correct. The Wild West was much more peaceable and respectful of citizens than those lawless urban zones.

Just the contract to provide lunch for that crew was a significant budget item, LOL.
To: RC2
With better gun control the headline would read “42 dead and ten wounded”.

@Gun violence: Where's the outrage? July 10, 2009|By Gerald D. Skoning
The long 4th of July weekend featured glorious fireworks along the lakefront and deadly gunfire in inner-city neighborhoods. Chicago tallied 63 shootings, one stabbing and 11 fatal shootings.
Seems GDS has an issue with holidays.
@Question for pollsters: Why can't you call me? October 18, 2006|By Gerald D. Skoning
But neither Gallup, nor Harris, nor any of the other opinion pollsters has ever asked what I think about the president, our governor or gun control. I have strong opinions on each, but I have never been asked. There's no need to call you. It seems you've mastered, over time, taking it to the MSM to give your opinion.

Please don’t insult animals. They don’t have the option to choose evil as humans do.
To: rellimpank
They’ve got to get our ‘protection ability’ and our ‘communication ability’ away from us.
I’d like to see the statistics on Chicago gun violence for years 2000 to 2008
just for the HOI.
