Keep in mind I’m an old lady.
The seven I never even heard of are Alfie Boe,Jools Holland,Jessie J,JLS,Lang Lang,Madness, and Ed Sheeran.
The Queen probably never heard of them either.
Alfie Boe is a popular classical/opera singer.
Jools Holland is a famous pianist/tv music host in the UK.
Jessie J is a hip new pop singer.
JLS are a British ‘boyband’, huge in the UK.
Lang Lang is a classical pianist.
Ed Sheeran is a relatively new, but acclaimed singer-songwriter.
Madness?. Every British person knows and loves Madness. They are a legendary pop band from the 80’s, who have had dozens of British hits since 1978. Never quite as successful in the US, they are household names here.
Listen to their stuff if you can. I have been a fan for over 30 years, they have made some classic pop records and are famous for their live concerts and their ‘Nutty Boy’ stage showmanship. Their music is heavily influenced by reggae and ‘ska’ music from the 60’s and 70’s. And they are still going strong. Madness are great, love em and so does most of the UK.
The Queen will certainly know Jools Holland, Alfie Boe and Madness.
