A home was left in shambles Saturday night after a robbery attempt went very wrong.
Authorities said they are investigating a shooting that left one dead after an apparent home invasion in Miramar shortly after 11:30 p.m.
Miramar Police said they believe a man tried to break into a home along the 6100 block of SW 27th Street in Miramar but was shot and killed by a visitor.
Bullets pierced the couch and the blinds, witnesses said.
"My cousin came home while I was at McDonalds. A guy came behind him with a gun, told him to get on the ground, put him on the floor telling him he was killing them and everything, said Keon Mobley, one of two brothers who lives in the duplex.
More Crime News.
Mobley told NBC 6 he was ready to kick back and watch the game with friends and went to grab food for them.
The victims said the robber held them at gun point and began putting hats in his bag but did not want cash.
When Mobley came back, the robber was at the door and told him to get on the ground, too, police said.
The robber was then shot by a family member inside the house and was found dead on the floor, police said.
"I start running, straight down the block, he shot like six times, Mobley said. As soon as he got back to the door my cousin shot him like I dont know how many times but it was gruesome.
Witnesses who heard the bullets reported seeing a gray Honda fleeing the scene. Police stopped the car on Miramar Parkway and 62nd Avenue but found there were only witnesses and victims inside, police said. Authorities said the victims were fearful and fled.
Mobley said he will pray for the suspect and his family. "He looked young, its sad what people do these days, Mobley said. "At the end of the day, I have my family, we're still here, I'm going to pray him."
> Mobley said he will pray for the suspect and his family.
Suspect?
He was killed during the commission of his crime. He isn’t a suspect, he’s the criminal. And he won’t be doing any more home invasions.
Yes, the unemployment office. Media isn't interested in facts. First and foremost is sensationalism. A close second is anything that helps the liberal agenda progress. Third is anything that helps 0 get re-elected, but I suspect that as the election gets closer, this will become their top priority.
“A home was left in shambles Saturday night after a robbery attempt went very wrong.”
I’m wondering what this reporter would consider a robbery attempt going right?
What passes for journalism these days is criminal.
A Phew-litzer Prize for the scribe.

Read her story a half dozen times and still I don't know what happened.
I'm sure they heard shots, not bullets. At first I thought this was a report of two different crimes with the "More Crime News" halfway through the article.
Fer sher!
If I read the article right, the perp is dead.
That's the best possible outcome short of there having been no robbery attempt at all.
The thugs need to know that they are dying in droves. Locals need to know that citizens & police are at war with violent criminals. Perhaps a few might think twice before committing a crime.
The gov’t & media constantly beat the drum of the consequences of drinking & driving. Gory billboards & mangled cars at intersections are stark warnings to drivers. The media reviews the numbers often.
We need similar stark warnings for thugs, while also reminding citizens to be vigilant & prepared.
A number of years ago, a professor named Gary Kleck did this study. Not on a billboard, but published in some journal names Social Problems." (I think). The resuls were that citizens killed about twice as many felons as police, and it was a couple of thousand total a year.
Since this has been going on a long time, one of the conclusions that you can come to is that thugs don't ever learn. The ones who are killed learn (very briefly), but the rest are too stupid or too arrogant (kind of like the POS in the white house, but I digress) to learn from others' mistakes.
That’s how journalists write. If she was a news reporter it would be a different story.
This was not a robbery that went wrong. It went right. The perp is dead and the victims are well.
I agree. Almost entirely incomprehensible.
This is partly a side effect of the concerted effort by the MSM to spike these stories. When thugs being killed are in the news, crime goes down. If the MSM paid as much attention to these stories as they do allegations of people claiming that it is racist for people to have to prove their eligibility to vote, we would see a considerable drop in violent crime.
Agreed. Stories that show firearms in a favorable light are to the media as holy water is to a vampire. These stories contradict the media's false narriative that guns not in government agents' hands are a danger to society.
"Only the news that fits." And btw this story is so poorly written it is only one step above not being reported. I assume the writer was hired for her looks, not her writing ability.
She is not guilty. In her defense, many of the stories that I post are just transcripts from broadcasts. They were never intended to be stand alone news stories.
It sounds like the perp went to answer the door and didn’t secure the victims already inside. One of them seized the opportunity, retrieved a firearm and punched the perp’s ticket.
