That’s the USS Wisconsin (BB-64), BTW, distinguished from her other Iowa-class sisters by the late service “beachball” antennae fairing mounted on the aft stack that she and Missouri carried into Desert Storm, plus the larger bow fairing that wasn’t removed when she lost her extreme forward 20mm following WWII (Iowa kept hers, while New Jersey and Mo lost theirs)
I, for one, am looking forward to this foray into the blogosphere by Herself.

cc, that is a much stronger graphic. I like the look and placement of the wording.
I’d make two other tweaks, if you are able:
1. Reduce the intensity and width of the bright line in the middle of the ship waterline. Seems too intense.
2. It would very cool if the one bit of color you could add would be for the US flag, even if the flag is made larger.
That would underscore “America” in the wording.
cc, I know nothing about graphics—if that cannot be done, this is still an awesome, awesome graphic as you have refined it.
I’m sure I’ll get back to it. I need to find a good profile of the Carl Vinson. A friend who served nearly a decade aboard wants a poster sized version with all the standard military info for hanging on his office wall at work.
He was due to retire in September 2001 but was retained for a few extra months. I believe they were heading for the Persian Gulf where he would meet his wife in Dubai but some raghead changed all that.
