The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., addressing Wisconsin voters ahead of today's recall election on Gov. Scott Walker, compared the embattled governor to Alabama's late Gov. George Wallace.
Jackson, speaking at a voter rally Monday in Milwaukee, said the election is a big moment in the history of democracy, according to a report by the Journal-Sentinel newspaper of Milwaukee.
Jackson, the newspaper said, used his 10-minute speech to compare the vote to defining moments in U.S. history like Dr. Martin Luther King's 1963 speech in Washington, D.C., the lynching death of 14-year-old Emmett Till and Barack Obama's nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate in 2008.
He also mentioned the courage of Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat to a white passenger while riding a bus in Montgomery, Ala.
"So now you have a governor: (George) Wallace did it in Alabama and now Walker in Wisconsin, trying to take back access to vote," said Jackson, referring to Wisconsin's new voter ID law that is under challenge in state courts. "We're fighting wars for democracy abroad, undermining democracy at home. We deserve better."

Wow. He’s dumber than I thought
The day MLK was shot the only thing Jessie Jackasson saw was dollar signs while he danced in King’s blood.
Ole Jesse can’t go any lower.
OK; kearnyirish2 compares Jesse Jackson to Robert Mugabe.
Big deal.
This is already posted.
“I think Mugabe has more illegitimate children. “
It’s close.
It’s a blatantly inaccurate comparison. Wallace was democrat.
It’s my understanding that Rev’m Jackson regularly sent thank you cards to James Earl Ray to the effect of “couldn’ta done it widdout ya!”
One needs a translator to understand the gibberish that comes out of the mouth of this jackass.
“One needs a translator to understand the gibberish that comes out of the mouth of this jackass.”
It’s noy”gibberish,” it’s Liberish.
“noy” = not. Where are my glasses?
The guy is an embarrassment. I understand every third word at best. Maybe that’s good. Do you think someone is translating for him?
Why is he trashing his fellow democrat Wallace?
I long for the days of George Wallace.
Boy, coulda knocked me over with a feather on that one...
Rev.Jesse & Al are prime examples of the old adage :If you ain’t part of the solution there is good money to be made prolonging the problem. That is the role they play in Democrat party politics . Its all about money & power for themselves & the party that they ply their trade for .
Meanwhile I compare Jesse Jackson to a box of paper clips.
