Nancy Reagan placed a bouquet of white roses on the gravesite of her late husband Ronald Reagan Tuesday to mark the eighth anniversary of the passing of one of America’s most beloved presidents.

Appearing frail in a red coat, the former first lady then sat by the 40th president’s gravesite at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif.

Now 90, Nancy Reagan recently suffered broken ribs in a fall, and was reported to be recovering slowly.

The widow of President Reagan also made news recently by announcing her endorsement of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Having served lemonade and cookies to Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, at her Los Angeles home, she said that she is firmly behind the former Massachusetts governor.

I was in a hotel lobby with my parents checking into a room
when then gov. Reagan walked up and stood in line behind us.
I had no idea who he was except that I had heard about him
on television. He had lived for a short time in our home
town and my mother recognized him and told him where we were
from. His face lit up and he asked us all about what had
changed there. Never acted as if he was any different from
us. A real class act. The fact that he just stood in line
with the rest of us says a lot.

I miss Ronnie so much.

The image of Nancy placing flowers on his grave brings
tears to my eyes.

We can’t let the vision of America that he held up
to us all die!

Obama must GO!

Perfectly said, tet68.

I will never forget that, watching President Reagan’s service and seeing Nancy, still wanting to be with her Ronnie one more time. I still cry thinking about it.

I knew then, how great Reagan was.. but, I didn't know how RARE.

Boy, that really sums it up. Those were the days when grace, dignity, and class represented our country and echoed in the halls of the White House and across the land. Reagan was truly a man who wanted to and felt honored to serve his country. Rather than the Occupier we have in there now who wants to be served. Reagan was a man of self-confidence, self-discipline, high principles and humility. Rather than the ever-searching for his own identity, lost in space, needing constant adoration, falsely proud, and without scruples Obama.

In essence, Reagan was an honorable man who you would trust with your checkbook, or to take care of your family, or your life. Obama is like the sneaky teen hoodlum on the corner with his wisecracking, easy lies, and bullying ridicule from whom you run and lock your doors.

I was in attendence in Feb 2004 when President Reagan made his announcement for re-election in Waterloo, IA. Part way through his speech a balloon fell out of the mash basket above the stage and floated down just to his right. Without skipping a beat he didn't even turn his head. He just reached out and hit the balloon into the audience and kept talking.

What a class act; we loved it.

What a great man. I so wish we had him now - God knows we need someone like him to help us.

Finally visited his Presidential library 2 summers ago and really enjoyed it. His grave is in such a beautiful, peaceful place that I could have stayed visiting Mr. Reagan all day.

Our country sure lost a great man and a great patriot when he passed.

WOW... What you said!!!

Ronald Reagan loved America and honored and respected her people, traditions, law, and spirit. Who can forget his funeral, with the masses of thankful Americans insisting upon paying their respects and wanting to personally say "Goodbye".

Obama is the Destroyer. He has great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

I read somewhere, I can't remember where, that when he was running for President they wanted a comment from Jane Wyman, his first wife, hoping to get a juicy, negative story about him.

She said that it was quite possible that Politics, in the Screen Actors Guild and his growing interest and activities in politics in general may have put a strain on their marriage as she had no interest in politics what so ever. But, she supported him 100% for President, he was a fine man personally, and was exactly what the country needed. The reporters didn't get their story that wanted from the “ex-wife”. When you get an endorsement like that from your Ex, you must be doing something right!

People say that the passage of time colors memories and that “the good old days weren’t as good as we remember.”

Yet Reagan really was as good as my/our memories of him. One of the proudest days of my life was casting my vote for him and KNOWING he’d never let me down. And he never did.

Sure, there are things I wish he’d done differently, but after reading about him for many years, I understand why he did them. What he did, he did believing it was what was best for America. And 99% of the time, it was.

Should we ever meet on the other side, I have two words for him. “Thank you”.

I remember Jimmy Carter.

And I remember 1980, and voting for Ronald Reagan, in the hope we could restore our country once again.

He did not disappoint me, ever. The liberal press and the Dems did awful things to him, but he went over their heads to the American people and won every time.

He gave us our confidence back, and we went on to prosperity and to eventually winning the Cold War without firing a shot or a missile. That was thought not possible back then.

His quaint notions of American exceptionalism and that godless Communisim needed to go were the beliefs we had, but the media and the Dems told us were relics of the past.

The outpouring of emotion, love and admiration in 2004 when he passed were incredible and a fit tribute to this great man.

He help to save us, and freed over 500 million people in the Eastern bloc.

May his example inspire us to fight for America in 2012, and bounce the Communists out of DC once and for all this year.

It was George W.that was running again
in 2004 - - -
I remember because I, with others, stood on many street corners from Aug. to Nov., with official Bush/Cheney signs. And my homemade signs that said,
“No Sharia Law in U.S.” - - -

from whom you run and lock your doors.

Well, most people run... some, stand their ground, call the police, and then watch the guy till they get there.

Agree 110% with everything *else* you said. ;-)
