A lot of the Walker win was based on the fact that folks thought the recall tactic was B.S., and should only be used to recall elected officials who did something wrong.

While I’m sure some of the support was ideological, it would be unwise to place too much stock in this particular vote as a national bellwether for Obama’s re-election.

I’d like to think voters are that principled; being from NJ I find that hard to believe. Since they voted for Obama in 2008, I’d imagine WI voters have the same “gimme gimme gimme” habit of voting with their wallets (which is fine by me; at least they understand “freebies” have a real cost to them).

I agree

It was mainly a local issue not national

Obama was wise not to campaign for Barret

It may have caused resentment and hurt his chances in November
