Elizabeth Warren makes emotional defense of Native American b/g in Springfield for MA Dem convention
The Republican ^

U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren passionately defended her Native American heritage, after reaching Springfield by train today for the state Democratic Convention on Saturday.

About 5,000 delegates on Saturday are expected to vote to endorse Warren as the Democratic pick for Senate to face Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown in November. The endorsement could give her some momentum for the months before the general election.

"My mother and father fell in love," Warren, 63, told reporters after disembarking from a train with dozens of supporters at the train station and then rallying backers with a stump speech at Stearns Square Park.

"My father’s people said he should not marry her because she is part Cherokee and part Delaware. They eloped in order to deal with that. That is my mother’s story," she said.

Warren, a Harvard law professor, hit back at criticism that she may have initially said she was unaware that Harvard had listed her as a minority. She also denied that her academic career was enhanced by the status.

"I've said exactly the same thing and that is that I let Harvard know after I was hired,'' Warren said. "I let the University of Pennsylvania know after I was hired. This is part of my family. I never received any benefit from it. Every single person who has been involved in hiring me has issued a statement to that effect."

She said she will never forsake her American Indian background.

"I have never backed off from my Native American heritage and I am never going to back off from my Native American heritage," she said.

The Delaware resettled in Oklahoma in the 1860s, on land they purchased from the Cherokee.

Clearly there is someone on her campaign staff who is doing a lot of reading, trying to craft a more plausible backstory.

Nothing funnier than a leftist forced to stick with an indefensible lie. Just keep making it worse, Liz.

0/32 Breed, by Fauxahontas Warren

My father married a 0/16 Cherokee
My mother's people were ashamed of me
The Indians said I was white by law
The White Man always called me "Indian Squaw"

0/32-breed, that's all I ever heard
0/32-breed, how I learned to hate the word
0/32-breed, she's no good they warned
All 32 sides were against me since the day I was born.

Is this from the Onion?

First she plagiarized French recipes from the New York Times for a fake Indian cookbook, now she is plagiarizing an old Cher song for her life story.

“My father’s people”

Were her father's people the ones that were rounding up Cherokees to ship them off to reservations?

The "elopement" story is a crock. According to Breitbart, they traveled 14 miles from home and got married in a church by a minister!!!

Good grief. Imagine if we had "I'm not a witch" running for reelection against "I'm not a Fauxcahontas" instead of RINO Brown.

Christine could've been making Warren look not so bad right now to the voters.
