Wisconsin wasn’t the only place in America voting on the blue social model last night, and Wisconsin wasn’t the only place where the blue social model took it on the chin.
As reported here yesterday, voters in San Diego and San Jose, California (both among the largest ten cities in the United States) had referendums on the ballot that would cut pension costs.
The results of those votes are in this morning, and both measures were passed by overwhelming majorities. In San Diego, 68 percent of voters supported the cuts. In San Jose, 71 percent voted against Big Blue.

My neighbor retired from a county gov’t job at 55. His base salary was $80K/year, but because he worked overtime the last few years, his retirement pay is greater than $80K/yr + paid healthcare.
Peple are sick of these kinds of stories, even blue liberal voters.
Please do not denigrate the name by associating it with low-life, gimme-mine, scum-sucking and life-sucking individuals who believe Government will provide all they need to be happy.

Unfortunately, I don’t think either of these ballot measures does anything (or very little) about the large pensions for existing retirees and current employees. The pension changes would all apply to future employees. So there are still legions of people receiving or slated to receive massive pension and benefit packages.
Most people are getting a belly full of arrogant unionized government welfare creeps, and their gold plated tax paid pensions and top shelf benefits, while the private sector is beat like a drum.
Enough of these tens of thousands of government tax parasites. Cut CA government by 70 percent, across the GD board. Should have been done 10+ years ago.
Eventually, all these government fiefdoms, city, county, state, etc, will go back to wages and benefits which match the private sector. There will be no choice for them.
They'll once again be considered "Public servants", as most in the real world are tired of working for government, so they can line their pockets and collect these tax paid lottery style retirements, perks, benefits and wages.
The private sector is pretty damn tired of being gang raped by government.
Ya know what’s ironic, if the title was, “Big Blue Wins Big in California,” there would be 300 comments by now.
By the title I thought IBM was moving some operations out of California.
