The Federal government is making a concerted effort to depopulate huge swaths of the West. Nothing about this situation is surprising.

Here’s what I wrote on this topic, back on May 11:

“Tombstone should advertise a special on “Heritage Green Energy Adventure Holidays”. For a reasonable fee (affordable for champagne liberals everywhere), you could travel (you arrange that part) to Tombstone, stay in specially priced (much higher price, just for you) historic hotel rooms, and use heritage tools powered by green energy (conversion of a layer of your fat into useful energy) to repair an eco-friendly hydration system (no plastic bottles involved).”

The Tombstone Shovel Brigade has been formed, modeled after the Jarbridge Shovel Brigade of Jarbridge, Nevada in 2002.

Loads of FReepers remember it well, though it was actually in 2000.

If I could get paid, I’d absolutely go and stay until everything is finished. If that means becoming a resident for a while, I’ll be happy to change my address to something not in New York.
