It became even more bizarre when people who were liberal at 20 were still liberal at 40; with the exception of the few public school teachers I know (who are laughing all the way to the bank), most people have grown up by the time they’re 40. After that, I’d expect only government workers, homosexuals/deviants, and any unassimilated permanently- dependent minorities (who contribute nothing to the cost of liberal programs) to be “liberal”.
There is no longer any democrat I want to have a cup of coffee or a cold beer with. None.

Except for one old Marine from Georgia who said that he would die a Democrat! I will always remember him for telling Chrissy Matthews that he wished we lived in a different time so he could call Matthews out for a duel. I would gladly buy Zell Miller a case of the finest beer made and count myself honored to drink one with him. Please don’t tell me anything bad about Zell, I want to die remembering him only as the old man who slapped Chris Matthews down on national television.

If Miller is who I think he is, I can’t for the life of me understand why he didn’t switch parties.
I think he was so close to retirement that he figured it wasn’t worth it.

It would have made a difference if he switched; it tells me a lot that he didn’t. Being close to retirement simply means he would face no consequences if he HAD switched.
This is my take on Caroline. She actively endorsed Obama with the idea that she would fill Clinton’s senate seat. Her kids are older now and the poor little rich girl needs a hobby. She’s furious that didn’t work out for her and blames Obama. And he was MIA, but in reality, she should blame it on the fact that she came across as an stammering idiot in interviews. Just my opinion.
I specifically asked you in a nice way to please not tell me anything bad about Zell! Can’t you leave an old man one illusion to cherish? I probably won’t live more than another twenty years or so. That is if any of us live that long with all the crap that is going on now.
I think you need a timeline. She enthusiastically endorsed and campaigned for Obama in ‘08. Her and Uncle Ted’s endorsement really was a turning point in the Dem primary in ‘08. Hillary never fully recovered. It was after Obama was inaugurated that Caroline became disenchanted, and hasn’t campaigned for him since.
But not to worry, he’s the Dem, she will vote for him come November, as will they all who now are condemning one aspect or another of his presidency. At least it’s fun to watch.

I agree with you; I’m just tired of giving them a pass on their destructive behavior. Ignorance is no excuse for contributing to the decline of this country, and the fortunes of individual Americans.
I shut down with these idiots in 2004 or so. I spent so much time and energy debating brick walls that I just gave up on them.
All I'm doing now is finding like-minded friends and 'networking'.
