EDITORIAL: Slick Willy is sinking Barack
The Washington Times ^ | 8 June 2012 | Washington Times OP Ed

If Bill Clinton wants Barack Obama to win re-election, he is doing a good job of hiding it. Just when the Obama campaign was trying to convince the country that Mitt Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital disqualifies him from the presidency, former President Clinton chimed in last week saying Mr. Romney did “good work” at Bain. He added, “a man who’s been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold.” All he left out was, “especially compared to a community organizer.”

[snip]

...why would Mr. Clinton seek to sabotage Mr. Obama? Because he needs to win. Mr. Clinton always wanted to go down in history as one of the great presidents. He rarely makes the list of the top 10, and he has been thoroughly eclipsed by Mr. Obama, whose ethnicity made his election historic from Day One. The current president achieved the health care reform Mr. Clinton could not and ordered the killing of Osama bin Laden when Mr. Clinton would not. Most galling of all is Mr. Obama being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, the recognition Mr. Clinton most sought in his presidency but which eluded him. He then had to witness his former vice president Al Gore be given the prize for his crazy ranting about global warming.

Helping make Mr. Obama a one-termer will harm Barack’s standing in history, perhaps dropping him below Mr. Clinton on the list of presidential greats. That’s right where Willy wants him.

Let me posit a theory:

Clinton and the DNC know Obama is going to go down in flames. They have already settled on Hillary replacing Obama this fall.

So, Clinton goes out and undermines Obama by saying he would work with Republicans (like he did in the 90s) to get the economy fixed.

This refreshes the public’s memory of the great Clinton economy, balanced budget and their ability get along with the GOP.

Obama decides to not accept the nomination and Hillary is coronated. The public will get both Clintons back to fix the economy and balance the budget.

They key is making Obama surrender the nomination.....and he is surely acting like he does not want to run again.

My theory is that there are many factions among the Dem elites, and the Obama made the mistake of promoting his Chicago faction at the expense of the power and prestige of the faction that the Clintons associate with. I also suspect that this is why the Kennedy crowd doesn’t like Obama either.

I don’t think jocon307 was trying to hijack the thread. In the article, the Sinkmaster gave credit to Romney for his work at Bain. He was just adding to that thought.

They have already settled on Hillary replacing Obama this fall.

This seems like a dicey proposition. Wouldn't Hilary be somewhat guilty by association? Also, aside from "taking out bin Laden," what foreign policy success can she point to as SoS? Stability in the Middle East? Better ties with our allies? A strong position against Russia? China? North Korea? All of those are abject failures.

She might be better than Obama, but come November, that won't mean much.

It's loopy.

Bubba wants the Hildabeast to be the candidate NOW. Both he and every other top Democrat knows Zero is ineligible. Every one of these idiots thinks themselves saviors of the Democrat Party. Zero is killing them and they know it. All they need is a "Republican" foil to bring the evidence to light and they'll keep the black vote on the plantation, motivated for revenge. Trump is enough of an publicity whore and egomaniac to do it, so he'd be perfect.

"From first black to first woman"... "Democrats reverse the evils of the past," and so on sure beats "Forward."

They would also catch the entire Republican effort flatfooted. Instead of talking about "Obama policies" we need to be talking about "Democrat policies," of which Obama represents an epitome. The only difference between they and he is the speed to which we careen into collapse.

Obama decides to not accept the nomination and Hillary is coronated. The public will get both Clintons back to fix the economy and balance the budget.

I think the black community will mostly stay home in that case. They will (correctly) see Obama's not running as being caused by him being stabbed in the back by the Dem Machine, and will be pissed.

As long as Affirmative Action and the Welfare State are not abolished, they won't care that much who is in the White House, and Romney seems unlikely to anything to roll back those parts of the Dem agenda. Therefore, they will have an incentive to punish the Democrats by demonstrating that their support cannot be taken for granted.

Clinton is doing his party’s bidding. They know Obama is taking their ship straight into the iceberg. He has to go. But since he is black none of them want to have their fingerprints on this. Slick Willie earned the name by proving time and again he can wiggle out of the blame for just about anything. He is the perfect hitman.

“He’s 65 years old,” a Clinton adviser told Politico, in explaining why Clinton said on CNBC Tuesday that the economy is in recession when, in fact, it is not.”

Are his advisers claiming he is going senile???????????????

If Slick Willy COULD sink Barack..... Hillary would be president.

A number of FReepers have convinced me that the Chicago mob had incriminating evidence on Arkancides and blackmailed the Clintons in the 2008 contest. The Clintons were unable to use their vaunted private detective operation to dig out all the background on Baraq. Mutually assured destruction.

BJ and Hillary are now taking advantage of Barag's disastrous 4 years in office and applying subtle jabs when they can.

Clinton is doing what Ted Kennedy did to Jimmy Carter in 1980.

“Another danger for the President: the media freak show. Stalking that circus’ center ring is Matt Drudge, whose caustic website continues to help drive the news cycle with an emphasis on negative, mocking items about Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and their wives. The latest sign of Drudge’s potency: Ed Klein, the author of the virulently anti-Obama book The Amateur, was barred from major TV appearances and mostly ignored by the mainstream media, but the book’s prominence on Drudge’s website propelled it to the No. 1 slot on the New York Times nonfiction list.”

Drudge just needs to keep hammering at Clinton’s Texas Two Step.

I have read in various places that they threatened Chelsea. Don’t know the time frame of the threats.

I tend to go with the theory it was competing factions and the Chicago Mob is ruthless.

But we are past the 5 year mark if he had it in 2004.
