Homosexual fund raiser? That changes everything. I thought this story was overblown until I read where the fund raiser was. Homosexuals are sex focused.

This is beneath us.
The short answer to the question in the title of this post is “no.”
Upon watching the video, it’s obvious that Obama was doing what he does best, reading the teleprompter without thinking too hard. As soon as the laughter cued him in that something was up, and he reflected on what he’d actually said, the hemming and hawing started, lasting for several seconds as he pondered how he was going to get out of it, after which he made a reasonably respectable recovery.
This is a case where his speechwriter really does deserve the full wrath of the Obama’s, and he/she is likely to get just that.
I can’t stand his policy decisions, have no respect for the views of America held by either he or his wife, etc., but this was clearly an unintended incident, not a joke.

Oh, and whoever wrote the pool report should be given less challenging assignments in the future. That was anything but a provocative pause to let the “joke” sink in; he was clearly lost and struggling to find a way out of the mess.
“Obama paused provocatively after the double entendre” was pure fiction writing by the pool reporter. Incidentally, it could have been a liberal reporter who loved the “joke” he thought he heard.
This is a toxic issue for the GOP, IMO. I think it best not to make a huge deal over this.
Oh my, it’s worse than I expected. IMHO, that pause after “his” line is too long for him not to have known what he’d said.
