They build houses 14' wide and move their furniture in, up on the second and third floors, with the help of a block and tackle suspended from a convenient steelyard that sticks out above the third-floor hinged window (like a gate; there's one on the second floor, too). They hoist Oma's 140-year-old spinnet, the family dining-room board and sideboards, china cabinets, beds, and Mom's refrigerator up that way with, presumably, family help.
Losing about 300,000 people to a Mars colony would sound like a good idea to them.
That's why their doctors feel so warmly approbative of euthanasia and abortion (but I repeat myself).
