I have a hard time understanding people who want, or seem to want, Romney to lose.

It’s a simple equation. If Romney loses, Obama wins.

Who among us could possibly want that?

Yet some seem to.

No, we want them both to lose. Badly. An absolutely humiliating defeat for them both. We want the grass roots of America to wise up. Rather than choosing which poison we want to drink, Romney or Obama, I want us to set the kool-aid aside for once. I want folks to stop voting "against" something and to start voting "for" something. I want to take a step toward a return to our Founders' vision rather than just talking about it and kicking the can down the road.

But if America isn't ready for that yet ... if things haven't gotten that bad yet ... if the sheople are still willing to drink from the cup handed to them ... then, "yes", let's at least be poisoned by our opponent rather than the "friend" who claims to be one of us.

I think all I said on the matter of who wins that it's harder to beat Obama than the Mittbots have misled you to believe. That's because it requires, at a minimum, that Obama receive 15% fewer votes than he did in 2008 while the Republican candidate has to get MORE than the highest vote total ever received by any Republican!

You cannot win under those conditions unless you have a candidate who inspires ALL factions in the Republican party to joyfully participate in the campaign, and then it's touch and go at best.

You cannot win with a Barry Goldwater type candidate who focuses on the business community and tells the social Conservatives to take a hike.

I think we've been over this territory before. So far not a single Mittbot has come up with a single reason for any social Conservative to vote for Romney. On that score he is no different than Obama!

Just to be sure what i told you, it isn't a case of wanting Obama to win ~ it's a recognition that the NUMBERS are not on Mitt's side.

To believe Mitt can win you have to believe these things:

(1) That you can get 62,000,000+ Votes (the most any Republican has ever gotten) without overt support of the Social Conservatives.

(2) That Obama can actually lose 15% of the vote he got in 2008 ~ and he got 69,000,000 votes!

That's the task. It is best done by a candidate who can ATTRACT some Democrats (e.g. unemployed youth) and also ATTRACT all the Republicans.

You cannot win as a Republican by rejecting the support of major factions affiliated with the Republican party. That does not work.
