(CBS/AP) HAYNEVILLE, Ala. - Deandra Marquis Lee, an Alabama man acquitted in a double murder, is being charged with killing 9-year-old twins Jordan and Taylor Dejerinett as well as their elderly babysitter Jack Girdner earlier this week, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Police are now looking for Lee, 22, who was out on bail on felony gun and robbery charges when the killings occurred Tuesday. He has been charged with three counts of murder, Lowndes County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer said.
Authorities believe the slayings happened on a dirt road where the bodies were found. All three victims had been shot, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI) said Thursday night.
It was unclear if Lee knew any of the victims or their families.

This case involves a black gang member (the aforemention Deandra Lee) who is accused of killing two 9 year old black twins and their 73 year old white male babysitter.
Why is this not a big story? I recall a story about a black teenaged drug abuser/burglar who was killed in self defense by a latino neighborhood watchman. One death, justified by self defense is a huge story. A triple slaying black on black on black on white is nothing. Could someone explain?

There was a similar sign going into Erwin, Tennessee at one time. You would never guess who ripped the sign out of the ground and destroyed it ... two guys connected to the local ‘modern’ KKK. Of course, the local government tried to quietly take credit for the removal. And just so you’ll know, Ermin is also where the people hung an elephant by a railroad crane.

It’s unfortunate, but it does not seem to matter who a black man murders. The press will ignore it completely if they cannot find a way to justify it.
If the press did actually report these things, they might start to change and you would see fewer deaths in the black community because individuals would start to take notice and demand something be done.

I saw that on the local news yesterday. The kids were cute. The babysitter was a very old White man.
Perhaps I’m reading too much between the lines but this case is politically dangerous because it would require a look at both the good and the evil in black culture, how the evil maintains its dominance by murder and fear and, worst of all, a look at a segment of good white folks.

Hayneville, not Haleyville. Just down the road from me. We’ve all been pretty nervous since it happened. No motive as of yet, they just caught the guy. This is a pretty quiet area. Thank God I have a Great Dane.

Erwin is kind of ‘sheltered’. Their claim to fame now is a nuclear fuel rod reprocessing plant. But the strangeness preceeded the radiation ... a most beautiful foothills of the Smokie though.
