CBC (Congressional Black Caucus): Zimmerman acquittal could spark race riots
Beltway Confidential ^ | June 11, 2012 | Joel Gehrke

Race riots could ensue if George Zimmerman -- the shooter in the Trayvon Martin case -- is found not guilty of second-degree murder by a Florida jury, the Congressional Black Caucus' executive director allowed yesterday.

"I think a 'not guilty' verdict is extremely problematic in 2012," said Angela Rye, the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus. She said, "I don't know," when asked what would happen in the event of an acquittal. "I know that folks have talked about race riots -- I don't know that. I think that we live in a day and age where people are educated enough not to do that. I know that his mother and his father have asked for peace, peaceful solutions, not repaying evil for evil, so I'm not sure. I think it would set us back . . . there's no value to racial violence or any other kind of violence."

Rye cited the media handling of the Trayvon Martin shooting as an example of racial bias. "To demonize a victim is always heavily criticized if it's a white woman, if it's a child -- but in this situation, this boy who was not alive anymore to tell his side of the story was quickly demonized, and that's where I take issue," she said.

This woman is a racist to the max.

Riots are what obama is threatening, too. If we don’t re-elect him there will be riots. And frankly, not much would be done to stop them so we’d all best be prepared to protect ourselves.

Question to the CBC: So it doen’t matter if this hispanic is not guilty? It is your opinion that he needs to go to jail as an innocent man to avoid race riots?

More from Angela Rye, Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus

She said that "a lot" of conservative opposition is racially-charged, citing the use of the word "cool" in an attack ad launched by Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS superPAC.

"There's an ad, talking about [how] the president is too cool, [asking] is he too cool? And there's this music that reminds me of, you know, some of the blaxploitation films from the 70s playing in the background, him with his sunglasses," Rye said. "And to me it was just very racially-charged. They weren't asking if Bush was too cool, but, yet, people say that that's the number one person they'd love to have a beer with. So, if that's not cool I dont know what is."

Hmmm - why specify "in 2012" - Bueller? Anyone?

still waiting for the arrest and prosecution of Al Sharpton for inciting riot, violence and mayhem.

This case seriously needs a change of venue. Move it to Los Angeles. Then let’s see what happens when blacks riot in “White” Hispanic neighborhoods.

Let them!

Usually they aren’t motivated enough to do more than torch their own neighborhood anyway, and the areas with Asians, Hispanics ect. wont hesitate to protect their stores with the help of Mr. Smith and Wesson.

I’m afraid that they’ll over play their hand with the riots this time.

THOUSANDS of people were injured and 53 killed 20 years ago in the LA riots over Rodney King. Today’s inner city population are much more vile in their hatred, violence and sense of entitlement than those from 20 years ago.

These riots would not isolated to one city but would be everywhere in the USA, so we’re not talking about thousands injured. We are talking about tens and tens of thousands people that will be injured and hundreds killed.

If it’s your grandma that gets pulled from her car and beaten to death, you’re going to have some very angry feelings towards certain groups of people and race baiters, even if you are the most liberal diverse person around.

It seems almost inevitable, but the rioters may overplay their hand this time (much to the detriment to everyone in this country). If we’re seeing dozens of major cities on fire in USA and seeing innocent people beaten left and right, race relations will never be the same. Politicians will fall overthemselves to pass self-defense laws and those who use the usual race cards will be laughed out of (if not thrown out of) town.

I pray that the jury is filled with people fed up to the gills with black racism, the CBC and all associated BS. I also pray that they walk in the deliberation room. sit, stand, return to court and render an immediate not guilty verdict while smiling widely. I also hope they get relocated to another state and are given lifetime protection.

This crap has to come to a head ASAP. Let the bastages riot. And let them suffer whatever consequences they bring upon themselves by doing so.

The CBC is a threat to national security and this proves it.

Facinating info. Arizona Watermelon and not Arizona Tea. And throw in some Skittles. The press reports it all wrong. Corey knows all this. And so does Trayvon’s parents.

This is completely irresponsible.

BUT, I blame the nutless, spineless, yellow stripe up the back and front, tail between the legs republicans for this kind of racist unAmerican behaviour.

Their cowardice encourages this kind of outrageous racism.

How do I know repubbies are cowards? The CBC should have been disbanded years ago.
