She originally said Cherokee, then this week I heard she said Delaware, which was too small a tribe to be recognized by the Feds, and was administratively subsumed into the Cherokee. While there is no evidence of her Cherokee heritage, apparently there is evidence of a relative who helped round up the Cherokee to be displaced on the Trail of Tears.
