Mika Brzezinski: 'I'm Hoping' Blaming Bush Will Work
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

We've gone from "hope and change" to hoping blaming Bush will work. As Joe Scarborough said: at least Mika Brzezinski's honest about it. Asked whether she believed that President Obama's attempt to continue to blame George W. Bush for the country's economic woes will work as a campaign strategy, a seemingly dispirited Mika Brzezinski replied: "well, I'm hopin'". Scarborough burst into laughter.

The Morning Joe panel was responding to a clip of President Obama from yesterday in which he analogized Republicans to people who had ordered an expensive restaurant meal, left just as Obama was sitting down to dinner, and then finding himself accused of running up the tab.

Do these Obama acolytes ever think to themselves that maybe it’s Obama’s policies that are screwing things up? I bet they look at the bad news every day and wonder why things are still awful. Because more government and more government control over the economy should work magnificently, right gang? These are people who love and believe in Big Government as the cure for every ailment.

That’s an old “Archie” comic line, shrieked in frustration by Principal Weatherby to Archie & Jughead in his office.

That rascally Republican minority in Congress stuck Obama with the stimulus bill right after he was sworn in, and no one told him he could veto it. Sure, he used to teach constitutional law, but all he covered was the 14th amendment.

What he's got going for him is that people don't really understand what caused the financial crisis in 2008, so he can say it was all Bush's fault. But after three and a half years of saying that non-stop, it may be wearing thin.

Q. Why did Mika write TGIF on her shoes?

A. To remind her that toes go in first.

Mika jokes-- the new blonde jokes, I like 'em.

Q. Why did Mika put on a ski jacket and a mink stole to paint her living room?

A. She read on the paint can, "For best results, put on two coats."
