That's true. People, even conservatives, apparently think the government should take care of the elderly, but the government doesn't have a bottomless pit of money. Neither do insurance companies. Death panels are the inevitable result of dependence on other people's money.
If someone has their hand out for other people's money, those other people are going to inevitably put the brakes on spending. They'll have to or it will bankrupt them. No one is saying a person can't spend as much as they want to extend their life as long as they can, so long as that money is their own.
If people don't like death panels, then stop asking the government to pay your bills. It's as simple as that.
You sure didn’t mind taking their money while they were working. Now that they’re retired and ready to collect what they paid for, all of a sudden it’s your money. If you’re fortunate enough to live long enough to join the group you now say are not worthy of life, how quickly will you jump into the grave?
