[Texas:]Perry imprint on Dewhurst camp deep, as spokesman enlists

The addition of former Perry presidential campaign spokesman Mark Miner to Senate hopeful David Dewhurst’s campaign means that the three most important positions in the Dewhurst bid to go to Washington are held by Perry people.

Dewhurst, who’s in a battle with former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz for Texas’ open U.S. Senate seat, has former Perry strategist Dave Carney as his senior campaign adviser. A pro-Dewhurst super PAC, Texas Conservatives Fund, is run by Rob Johnson, who managed Perry’s 2010 re-election campaign and worked in his failed presidential effort in the 2012 cycle.

Miner, another Perry presidential campaign worker who was Perry’s gubernatorial press secretary before that, will join the Dewhurst campaign for the six weeks remaining before the July 31 Senate GOP runoff, the online political news outlet Texas Tribune reported Wednesday. Both Miner and Johnson previously worked for Dewhurst in the lieutenant governor’s office.

So what? Perry is a Dewhurst guy. So are Michael Reagan and lots of mother conservatives.

Perry is a pretty bright guy that stubbed his toe because he jumped in to debates while still on pretty strong pain medication after his back work was done.

With that said I’m amending my “pretty bright guy” comment above to “bright guy”. Perry is foolish to support Dewhurst. Dewhurst is going to get stomped by Cruz. Just watch. The Tea Party people are crouched down in the tall grass and many people won’t see them (especially the media)and they are goiing to pounce.

The same thing is in store for Obama. It is going to go something like this:

hope you are right. some dewhurst supporters here have been civil, but not others. i support cruz, but with dewhurst getting 44%on in the pprimary, cruz needs to get absolutely every other vote.

We’re supporting Cruz at our house, too. We have his sign out front, and have gone around putting his signs up all over town.

I knew La Raza Rick was drugged...He appeared drunk/drugged half the time and couldn't put a freaking sentence together.

He wanted to be president?

Great!

I think what Dewhurst’s supporters don’t think about is that he is GOPe—and they’re what we need to get rid of!
