Mittens hasn't spent one minute in the military, nor has any relative of his in living memory. He was Viet era, so his dad likely was WWII era, and both managed to miss those dances. Odd, isn't it?

None of his kids, in this era of national need, has managed to stray anywhere near a uniform, and somehow it's all believable when he salutes the flag and says how much he loves his country.

I believe he received a long list of deferments throughout Vietnam, during those years in which he was vulnerable for the draft. College deferment, graduate deferment, I'm living in France deferment, and the infamous I'm too important deferment. On a side note, my uncle, a DDay Army vet who was a machine gunner, had a massive stroke yesterday and is nearing the end today. He would never speak of that day. To this day, he hasn't spoken of it or any portion of his trip across Europe other than to acknowledge his presence. Now he is unable to speak of it. An 87 year old treasure soon to pass to his reward unless God directly intervenes. The greatest generation earned better politicians than they were given. The Romney's are part of the crowd that they deserved better than. No Viet-Mitt is a paragon of the family tradition.
