Green Welfare, Green Taxes, Green Poverty
The American Spectator ^ | June 13, 2012 | Peter Ferrara

Posted on 06/14/2012 5:30:53 PM PDT by CedarDave

What would you do if gangs of robbers roamed your neighborhood at night, breaking into your neighbors' houses and stealing their family jewels and life savings? You would arm yourself to defend your property. Or you would move to a safer neighborhood.

But if the robbers formed gangs called Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, or the Natural Resources Defense Fund, and assaulted your standard of living, the Che Guevara Democrats expect you to greet them with open arms, and gleefully turn over bushels of your cash, until your life savings is gone, and your standard of living has been reduced to the level of Argentina.

That third world destination is where Obama's "green energy" economic strategy is taking America, all while he tells us sweet fairy tales about how this path is the road to 21st century prosperity.

~~snip~~

The world changed from wind, solar, and biomass to oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear for good reasons of physics and math. First and foremost are the concepts of energy density and power density. The hydrocarbons and nuclear pack a massively more concentrated punch. The power of solar and wind are very broadly diffused throughout the atmosphere, so more than herculean efforts are needed to collect and concentrate it in usable forms.

~~snip~~

The Left's flower power "renewables" such as wind, solar and biofuels are the energy sources of the Roman Empire, and they will produce the same living standards as the Roman Empire.

~~snip~~

The rhetoric of green jobs is just a PR slogan designed to trick the American people out of their traditional, world leading prosperity, which President Obama and his far left base considers immoral and unfair to the rest of the world. The reality has already been tried and failed in Europe ...

Bears repeating:
The Left's flower power "renewables" such as wind, solar and biofuels are the energy sources of the Roman Empire, and they will produce the same living standards as the Roman Empire.

Fact-filled article about the fallacies of green energy:
For example [from US government data], onshore wind is 2-3 times more costly than traditional fossil fuel sources, offshore wind 4-5 times more costly. Solar thermal energy is 5-6 times more costly, photovoltaic solar close to 10 times more expensive. And, of course, there must be backup energy [traditional sources] available when the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine.

But with Obama's "green energy watermelon policies" self-supporting, taxpaying fossil fuel sectors of the economy are demonized and overly regulated by an out-of-control EPA whose goal is to eliminate them. The objective is to replace them with wind, solar and biofuels, which will survive only at the expense of taxpayers and ratepayers, and reduce America's reliable electric grid to the status of third-world countries where power is not always available or dependable.

” and they will produce the same living standards as the Roman Empire. “

Living standards *for the Elites* in the Roman Empire were pretty darned good...

I suspect that Greenies - Libs in General - see themselves as the ‘disenfranchised’ descendants of the Roman Elites, and they long to bring about a return of the “Natural Order of Things”.....

Just wait until you have to purchase a new dishwasher or washing machine. The new dishwashers can take 3 hours to run a cycle, and the washing machines don’t get clothes very clean. They still smell. Yuck.

Then there are the low flush toilets that spew nastiness into the room. Could this be the reason for the increase in the spread of c. difficile? And then there are the problems with city sewer systems because there isn’t enough water running through the pipes to move the sewage along.

The EPA is giving Americans 3rd world living conditions and sanitation. Wonder when the first outbreak of some nasty disease will be?
