Actually, Mr. President, You Did Ask for an Argument

Bryan Preston

As Bridget noted in real time, President Obama did not like getting some pushback on his amnesty policy today. In fact, he came within an inch of losing his cool.

Video

The sound bite coming out of that exchange is that the president said he isn’t asking for any arguments. That simply is not true, or given our representative republic, should not be true.

The president announced a major policy change that impacts not just the 800,000 illegal aliens who benefit, it impacts the entire country. By circumventing Congress, it impacts our rule of law. By announcing it in a way that suggests its political origins, it impacts the presidential race.

If the president expected no arguments, then he is deluded. If he will brook no arguments, then he is unfit for the office. He is not a king, and we are not his subjects. We have a duty to push back if we believe that his actions are wrong or illegal, both of which may apply to today’s seismic policy shift.

But the fact is, President Obama damn well knew that he was provoking an argument, and he expects that argument to get heated in ways that will help him keep his job. He also expects to win it.

He will not.

Thin-skinned and insecure. He attempts to cloak it with his feigned arrogance. A complete fraud.

Wasn’t Obama the guy who claimed “you need to get into their faces”? What’s a matter, ObaMao? Don’t like what you shovel out?

Every single news account called this reporter a “heckler” and said Obama showed passion (for once) in slapping him down. Say the guy was rude, broke protocal etc. Have they never heard of Sam Donaldson? That old Helen witch? For crying out loud!

I’m just guessing, but this has to cost him a net loss of votes. He looked petulent and weak, what a putz.

I hope he gets an argument from the 800 thousand unemployed people who now have to compete with illegals for limited opportunities.

Yes indeed.

While I intensely despise bubba I envy him his unique position right now. He’s perfectly positioned to do maximum damage to Øbozo and he’s taken huge advantage of it. And always with that sh!t-eating “ain’t I just a little stinker?” grin of his ;-)

Exactly, he’s basically saying ‘I make the rules..end of discussion’.

I remember that one. Well maybe it’s time for someone to get into HIS face once in awhile! It may not be the professional or respectful thing for that reporter to do; but I’m so glad he/someone had the nerve to actually “get into his face” for a change!
