If only the cops hadn't fingered an innocent man. I'm sure it doesn't happen very often. Exactly why those who bear false witness ought to be immediately convicted of the crime they claimed was perpetrated against them, serve the maximum time/fines, and pay the true victim - the one who got caught as the police tried to arrest a "criminal".
