Lavaca County authorities on Friday identified the 47-year-old man who was caught molesting a girl and then beaten to death by the child's father.
Jesus Mora Flores was killed on the afternoon of June 9 on a rural farm pasture on County Road 302 between Shiner and Yoakum.
In a press release issued Friday, authorities said Flores was attempting to sexually assault the girl, whose age was corrected by officials Friday to be 5 years old.
"When emergency medical personnel arrived, Jesus Mora Flores' pants and underwear were down and the man's genitals were exposed," said Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon, who was quoted in a press released issued by District Attorney Heather McMinn.
Flores had been hired by the child's father to care for horses on the property, according to a neighbor.
A public records search shows no permanent address for Flores in Lavaca County.
The press release also confirms that law enforcement officials discovered a witness to the attacks, but does not identify that person.
Investigators found that "a witness observed Jesus Mora Flores forcibly carrying a 5-year-old child off to a secluded area, the witness ran for help and alerted the child's father."
The father then heard the child's scream and ran to help her, the release said. The father then "immediately removed Jesus Mora Flores from on top of his child" and inflicted "several blows" to the man's head and neck area.
The release stated that all of the physical evidence and witness statements in the case corroborated the father's statement.
Harmon said Flores was not in the United States illegally and possessed a permanent resident card - more widely known as a green card.
The sheriff said his office has been working with Mexican Consulate officials to locate Flores' family.
Complete results of the autopsy conducted in Travis County are not expected for several weeks.
Harmon said the girl's family and father have cooperated with authorities.
McMinn said in the press release that Harmon "made the right decision in not arresting the father at the time of the incident."
The girl's father remains remorseful about Flores' death, said Harmon, who said he expects a grand jury to hear the case next week.
"This case has been very traumatizing on the child, her father and his entire family," he said.
Sorry for the rant, but I figured that if newsers and other idiots want to whine about Texas justice, they might as well start with a few facts ... not that it will make much of a difference.
Dad did what Dads should do
Hope he has a peaceful Father’s Day somehow
Maddening how perp is ID’d in headline as beating victim. He is a criminal of the worst kind, not a victim
Death alone is far, far too good for this monster. I hope that hell gives him no rest.
That being said, I find it unlikely that a grand jury in Texas would indict and there is no way a trial jury would convict. Rightfully so for he did, as others have mentioned, what a father should do.
Agreed; but my vote on the jury would be ‘not guilty’ whatever the charge against dad.
Can't agree.
There is such a thing as "heat of battle."
You tell ‘em, Zakeet!
People have to know that Mexico and Central America are societies in deep moral crisis at this point in history. Males, unanchored by family, are a danger. My own cousin’s bride was attacked and killed in her home by such a depraved Salvadoran “refugee” who was hired out of compassion. I’m Latina and I say be cautious and skeptical because these individuals are not operating under the same assumptions about defenseless women and children.
...Jury nullification...
I stand with the father.
The father had no way of knowing if, the scumbag, deprived of his raging lustful satiation, might turn, enraged, beat the father unconscious, and then continue to rape his child. The only way to be sure that this rape was ended was to either restrain (bind) the attacker, or, absent the implements needed to accomplish this, render him unconscious.
None of which takes into account the father's immediate frame of mind upon seeing his kidnapped child about to be sexually savaged by this animal. Striking out to defend his innocent in an immediate flash of righteous anger is only human, should be expected, and would never be found by a jury as grounds for a finding of pre-meditated malicious intent.
I could act as counsel for this Texas dad in 100 such cases and win every single one of them. Except that only an idiot prosecutor would ever bring such a case before a jury. Or a judge.
;-\
Give the dad a medal.
Also disagree...the father merely identified the threat to his daughter’s well being and eliminated it. That’s what he should have done. The sexual abuse law had been violated, and dad put an end to it.
Guess what?
With our Kenyan POTUS we now have MILLIONS MORE MEHHICCAN criminals allowed to stay!
Sadly, this is going to happen much more often because of what Obama did yesterday.
The libs forget that TX is a very big law and order place.
At that point, technically, he should of stopped. He is legally vulnerable for each blow he threw afterward.
*******
I’ve yet to see any evidence that he pulled him off the kid *then* started punching him. Its quite likely the perp started fighting back the moment dad got his hands on him, justifying the use of force.
Not that I would convict him even if he’d taken a few shots after he’d pulled the pervert off the kid. This is one case in which the much maligned “temporary insanity” defense would be absolutely justified.
I can’t think of msny things capable of causing someone to temporarily lose their reason as witnessing your own child in the process of being molested by some sh*tbag with his pants around his ankles.
Just the thought of it is enough to raise anyones blood pressure a few points.
As do I. The father, was being a father. No crime in that,
“At that point, technically, he should of stopped. “
Umm no
Since his genitals were still attached, I would say the father exercised extreme restraint.
Other states might want to emulate Texas. So yes, it is important to make it clear.
True...If the Father broke the law, the law is flawed and should be ignored...
I’d never convict the father. Saved the TX prison system money.
I must disagree. At the point where the pulled the subject off his daughter, he had no way of knowing what the subject would do from that point forward; whether the subject would run, or whether the subject might overpower him and continue the assault on his child. I put this in the same class as the cop who shot the face-eating monster in Florida, rather than baton, tase or physically confront someone whom he reasonably believed could not have been controlled and the assault ended with less than that level of force.

A number of them do. NH's law on similarly contains explicit provisions allowing the use of deadly force to stop a number of crimes in progress. I can't imagine that any state would hold that deadly force could not be used to stop a kidnapping and rape of a child in progress.
Next.
“Give the dad a medal.”
And castrate child molesters with blowtorches so it does not happen again.
The fact we have a term “repeat sex offender” speaks volumes about where we are as a nation.
Rot in hell, Flores!
Judges are elected in Texas. There will be no nullification of the jury’s acquittal.
Rot in hell, Flores!
I know many conservative folks (Latino, black, Asian, etc.) who are really afraid of the younger "thug" generation, not only because they could be victims as well but that they might be lumped into the "all (fill in the blanks) are rioting, looting, and robbing" category. Right now, the black youth issue is coming to the top. However, there are Latino, white, and asian gangs as well that are doing their stuff as well. They're only a bit wiser to keep a lower profile (right now).
Same with your observation. You have a lower stratification of the population that are morally bankrupt and have no compulsion about doing stuff that most of us cannot fathom. Theft, robbery, drug use/dealing, pimping/prostitution, rioting, and murder is not only acceptable, it's promoted by the very culture!
The socialist/communists have negated God, but expect people to obey the laws they pass like they are the gods. Trouble is, their example is far from godly, and when everyone is "special", then no one is. Do as I say, and not as I do no longer flies (ask zero).
We're nose-diving into a mountain, and the majority is about fed up with this mess. I have daughters. Had this happen to one of them, I would not feel remorse at this outcome. I applaud the father for doing his duty, and he should be framed as a hero, 'nuf said...
"The release stated that all of the physical evidence and witness statements in the case corroborated the father's statement."
OOPS!! Just like the Zimmerman case. Looks like Holder's gong to be prosecuting the dad for a "hate crime," and I just wish I were being sarcastic.
Just ask yourself what he’s have don to the little girl after he’d kidnapped her and raped her. A few weeks from now, if her dad hadn’t acted promptly, as he did, her dead body would have been found in some culvert and the perp would be safely in Mexico. Kudos to the sheriff.

You have to remember that this is Texas. It doesn’t matter what the law says, this is regarded as justifiable.
Jury foreman presents the findings of the jury:
“Guilty? No F***in’ way.!”
“[E]xcept that only an idiot prosecutor would ever bring such a case before a jury. Or a judge.”
Or Eric Holder.
Save all the hubbub for those who deserve it.
Amen!
Great post!!, i may want copy it to my hometown newzpaper comments.
I’d check the horses this guy was supposed to be taking care of. He was probably having his way with them, too.
Maybe if the father was armed he could have pulled the guy off and then held him at gunpoint, but since he had no way of knowing the guy’s mental state, he could have been attacked and incapacitated and both he and his daughter would be in danger. With the added danger of drugs that turn people into superhuman zombies, the dad did everything right, based on what he saw of the situation. I’m happy the dad rescued his daughter. The daughter knows that she is loved and that her dad holds her in high enough regard that he would do anything he could to protect her. All children should feel this secure with their parents.
OMG!!!!
(Obama Must Go)
No matter what, the father stopped this child rapist from repeating his crime again and again. Most people know full well that most child rapists end up with multiple victims and destroy many lives before they are through.
This event may not have been this child rapist's first rape.
Thank goodness it is his last!
It proves once again,
DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS
DON’T MESS WITH TEXANS
DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS KIDS
DON’T MESS WITH MY KIDS
I’m really surprised that Senior Flores was even identifiable!
We have evolved from GET A ROPE! :)
Prayers up for this father and his daughter. My heart goes out to both of them.
May God forgive me for not praying for the perp. I wonder how many assaults he has committed in the past without getting caught....
That’s one less sicko illegal. The dad did the world a favor.
So in other words the dad would have been legally in the clear had he killed the perv first (by, say, splitting his head in two with a crowbar) THEN pulled the body off his daughter ...
