Teachers helped a 15-year-old pupil to have an abortion that her parents knew nothing about.

Her mother and father finally learned about the termination when she told them after it had happened.

Last night family campaigners said the case showed how parents are increasingly being sidelined by the law.

It is understood that the girl went to a hospital where it was confirmed she was pregnant. In line with her wishes, doctors did not tell her parents but notified the school in Salford, Greater Manchester, instead.

Teachers discussed the termination with the girl, checking she was comfortable with her decision. They also gave her time off school and supported her when she went for the procedure.

But they say "I'd hit her" and "not guilty" and "where were teachers like that when I was in school" etc. etc.

The double standard around here regarding male/female adults having sex with children is appalling.

Yeah... that's how a lot of people joke around, it doesn't mean they condone it.

I think I understand now -- Men can't make jokes about a cute female teacher and females never joke about a cute male teacher.

If JimRob wants to put a stop to the "I'd hit it" threads, that's fine with me. Until then, the responses are often a comic relief from everything else going on.

People can make jokes about the cuteness of teachers all day long. That's not the point and you know it.

The problem is it's adults having sex with children.... more specifically, it's adults in positions of authority having sex with children who are vulnerable by their positions as children and as students.

Of all the "teachers having sex with a student" posts on this website, I have NEVER seen a female Freeper say anything admirable or desirous about the man that had sex with one of his female students. Perhaps they have and I just missed it. Shame on them.
