Local churches in the area have decided to rally for a cause that is near and dear to their beliefs religious freedom.
Many religious institutions and organizations within the Tri-Cities feel as though the HSS mandate set forth under the current ObamaCare law, requiring that employers, including faith-based institutions, fund and provide for certain medical procedures would violate their religious and ethical beliefs.
They ruled recently that all insurance, no matter what the individual holder wants, must carry birth control and abortion-causing drugs as a priority, said Julianne Wiley, one of the organizers of the event and representative of St. Marys Catholic Church. Naturally, the churches where this is against their religion said You cant do this. You cannot force a religious institution to violate its own moral law within its own institution.

June 16, 2012 1:36 AMIf these churches will stay out of my "religious freedom" by not lobbying to ban abortion and against gay marriage, maybe they'd have a leg to stand on.
Otherwise they are just the usual bunch of hypocrites who are mad that not everyone will bow down to their specific beliefs. [Readers may note that the poster is ignoring the truth, that these religious institutions are being forced by secualr law to violate THEIR OWN BELIEFS ... but such stupidity, hateful whines, and dead soul demands to stay dead are typcial with these ilk. we have too many homosexual degenerates in Johnson City and they are becoming more vocal and more demanding. Observe the poster's very next posting!]

June 16, 2012 1:48 AMI find it telling that we have a bunch of local politicians there cow towing to this crowd of hypocrites. People who don't understand the first amendment should not vote and certainly should not hold office. [This dead soul is in fact calling for the violation of those it disagrees with, while believing it is 'standing on the Constitutional rights']
I know who I'm not voting for this November. [And these radical degenerate fools Vote, unlike the professing conservatives who merely whine but do nothing to vote rascals out.]
I’ve been considering moving to Johnson City someday.
At first I was looking into Asheville — you know, pretty town in the mountains (I love mountains!) — but then I read more about the town... Shudder!
Is Johnson City going liberal?

“I’m preparing to put my house on the market and move to a less dense population area for my retirement years. Let me know if you get serious about Johnson City. I can also recommend real estate folks I trust to help you.”
Thank you! If you are looking for someplace less dense take a look at the area east of Tulsa. Oklahoma is solidly conservative (not one county went for Obama), house prices are good, and the cost of living is low.
There is a VERY good forum that helps people find the right place to move to...

The advice you can get on that forum is fantastic. Pick a state and ask some questions, and you’ll get a lot of information.
I have wanted to move to the Tulsa area but I really need to finish my education. I’m also looking at North Carolina, somewhere in the mountains, or in Wake Forest where there is a seminary.
You mentioned that Johnson City was dense in population. Are you talking about the city itself or the general area? I was under the impression that the general area wasn’t too overgrown, but I’ve never been there and it’s hard to tell from photos.
JC is not ‘dense in population’, it is rather spread out in fact. But we seem to have an increased lesbian presence here.
