With the exception of my 6th great grandfather, John Carpenter (a neighbor, close associate, friend and revolutionary brother in arms of one George Washington) in my paternal grandmother Robinsons family, my other English and German ancestors waited in sometimes years long lines, got on a hot, crowded, rickety ship, crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Ellis Island.
My wife’s English and Irish ancestors also waited in sometimes years long lines, got on a hot, crowded, rickety ship, crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Ellis Island.
There they were deloused, given a cursory medical exam, interrogated, their immigration papers checked and, with just what they were able to carry, took the ferry to the mainland to begin their lives as “Americans.” Those who did not have a complete grasp of English soon undertook formal and informal of the native language and the rest, as they say, is history.
That’s how it USED TO BE DONE.
The 14th Amendment, INTENDED by the drafters to ONLY grant citizenship to emancipated slaves by overturning the Dred Scott decision, has been tortured beyond recognition by the radical left to also include so-called “anchor babies” born to Latinas who stroll across the border to download junior HERE to bypass all the normal immigration processes described above. As an intern in a San Diego ER, my late niece caught many of those babies as part of her OB/GYN training.
By executive fiat, today Obama just took the first step to COMPLETELY open our borders (trust me, it is the first step only!) His action makes FOOLS of those who, like our great-great grandparents, played by the rules. It also makes fools of those waiting in those overseas lines to come here THE RIGHT WAY!!!
A wag declared that a nation without borders is NOT A NATION!!
A Latino “immigration lawyer” on FNN this morning said that if Congress doesn’t like it, they can change the law. He went on to say “THEY DON’T HAVE THE GUTS.” Sadly, he’s right. But if these clowns on Jenkins’ Hill think those latinos (legal and illegal) are going to vote for the GOP, they should be careful to not let their minds wander: They’re too small to be out alone.
Not that it would do any good, I called my congresscritters’ (202-224-3121) this morning to ask when they plan to offer Articles of Impeachment for this, the Law of the Seas Treaty, the activities of Holder, et al, the waste of taxpayer bucks on the green jobs idiocy, etc., etc. I’ll spare you the entire list as it runs to a few hundred pages. If impeachment is not their plan, I asked them to have the decency to RESIGN as the first branch of this government is clearly no longer needed and Obama could use the bucks saved to help buy the coming “election” or perhaps resume his taxpayer funded World Tour.
Bottom line? If you are STILL unconvinced that this guy is a clear and present danger to YOUR way of life, you probably live in a refrigerator crate behind a vacant warehouse. And if that is NOT your current living condition, re-elect this guy and it shortly will be.
My take on this whole issue: This is one of about a dozen polls out there and all of them are running strongly against the action BO took. Although it may make all of us feel good to see the No number rising, I’m not sure it’s going to make any difference. BO and his inner circle knows that this change could not be made legally and they don’t really care.
So what now? Who among those speaking out against his EO can stop it? What about all those people we helped to elect in DC that haven’t said a peep - like Boner and our Republican controlled Congress.
So we wait for November? By then there will be at least a million more who are now here illegally that will be legal and who knows how many more that will be coming across the border with fake documents who will become legal.

The whole point of announcing this...is to allow Obama’s media to harrass Romney about whether he’d continue the policy...no matter how he answers he loses...it also means Rubio as VP will be less likely...therefore Florida, more in play.
None of this has ANYTHING to do with right or wrong.
Obama is the worst.

I voted NO.
One of the comments (which I have stated an uncounted number of times), What part of Illegal do people not understand?
I grew up working in the fields (for hire), hoeing corn, potatoes, sugar beets, soy beans and peppers. I also picked peppers, strawberries, blueberries, and other fruits & vegetables. I worked in the processing plants. Now as a disabled Vet I am not affirmative action qualified to obtain employment. All the excuses, too old, not enough education (the real world experience 35 years of computer technology is no longer valid). I would work the fields (I’d have to crawl on my hand and knees) if that work was available.
By some stroke of luck I still have my house, for how long is an uncertainty. With the high cost of fuel, electric, food and other necessary expenses, I have no quote, unquote disposable income.
I am appalled with the current admin policies pushing us “We The People” further in the dumper, disrespecting the Republic at every turn.
The poll question is wrong. The *illegal* work permits have a two year limit, not the *defacto* amnesty!
Thanks for your vote.

LOL
I tried to vote again, but got this message instead:
We didn’t record your vote, because you or someone from your computer’s address or network has already voted.
IMHO, Obama wants to divert attention from the economic mess he has made and he wants to harm this country. He already has the Hispanic/illegal alien support.
We must keep after our congressmen to stop him. Rep. Steve King (R., Iowa) is contemplating filing a lawsuit to stop Obama. We should urge others to do likewise.

Excellent! What a great turnaround from the 46% when I posted it.
They're trying to prove Americans support the Kenyan's usurping our immigration laws. Unfortunately for them, they're not getting the answers they want and need to make that happen.
