Its a lot easier to kick the can down the road when someone is offering you 100 billion dollars to do it.

What the hell is going on here? If the Greeks voted to get out of the Euro they would get no mo money. Sooooo..... duh, of course the lazy s vote to stay in the Euro and continue to get hundred billion dollar bailouts.

They should have the “Duh” Party.

Great posts.

Federalized European debt is necessary though.

Here we differ - should read:

Federalized European debt is impossible though.

It is impossible to Federalize debt - and therefore financial structures - without Federalizing europe itself.
It simply will not work - and I doubt the endless leaning on the German people to support this failing structure is going to tolerated for very long until the German people rise up and throw out the politicians so inclined.

In fact, it would require a new nation to emerge, The United States of Europe, or the EUSR, or some such.
But again, in the absence of common heritage and Language, this is doomed to failure.

If you’re referring to Greece, green is color on all PASOK signs. They are the socialist party and their leaders are largely responsible for this.

Yes that is the one, I do remember now that I was told they were socialists. One time in Athens one of their offices (headquarters?) was bombed right below my hotel room. I was told not to worry "it was just a small bomb".

Window glass from the hotel and university was all the street and balcony. I actually made it on French TV (they were there to cover the elections).
