The Minnesota Vikings' new $975 million stadium is expected to bring construction jobs to parts of Minneapolis hit hardest by poverty and unemployment.

Elected officials, business owners and civic leaders who backed the stadium are hoping it will be a boon to the jobless, including the 22 percent of black workers who were counted as unemployed as recently as last year, Minnesota Public Radio reported Tuesday, June 12. That was nearly triple Minnesota's overall jobless rate.

"The stadiums and larger projects really open a lot of doors for women and minority workforce."

That doesn't sound very open-minded. Typical of the Dems.

It’s the old “break the window” theory of job creation.

So, they're building a stadium as an excuse as an excuse to hire the long-term unemployed? Do the taxpayers agree with this?

A few weeks ago, there were meetings in the House and Senate shown via the Internet. There were various groups pro and against, politicians and citizens and not specifically along party lines. It's disturbing that quotes such as those in the article can be made and few if any will question the text.

The taxpayers never did agree with this. However, too much of our newly-elected Republican majority in both houses of the Legislature forgot why they were elected. They gave Governor Fauntleroy a huge public slush fund for his union buddies, and we will NOT forget it.

Nothing excites a politician more than looking at the 3D computer model view of the field from his comp seats in a luxury box at the new stadium.

The jobless will greatly benefit from the new panhandling locations the stadium will create.

It will be a boon for union parasites, corrupt bureaucrats, and a handful of crony contractors. It’s Minneapolis’ version of the Big Dig.

Look for the goons to go on strike over some imagined grievance about halfway through construction. Then look for cost overruns to add another 20 percent to the budget and the timeline. When it’s finally done, it will be of substandard quality and last half as long as it was supposed to. If an audit is conducted, it will show labor charges for men who never existed, supply purchases that never happened, and a ledger full of bills that never had anything to do with a football stadium.

Then nothing will happen except the Vikings will continue to lose against everyone but Benilde St. Margaret’s girls’ lacrosse team.

With all the rest of underhanded and illegal moves, I wouldn’t put it past him to make them members of the unions.

Taxpayers money should not be used for this.

And if blacks are that stupid as to vote for the very people that make them unemployed more power to them.
