'Son of Hamas' Visits Israeli Parliament

Mosab Hassan Yousef spoke with Knesset members Monday as the guest of Deputy Minister Ayoub Kara, commenting that in Arab nations, and “especially in the Palestinian Authority residents need freedom and human rights more than they need a state.”

Yousef, the son of one of the founders of the Hamas terrorist organization and author of the book, “Son of Hamas,” has spent a number of years abroad following a decade in which he risked his life working undercover as an agent for the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). His code name during that time was 'The Green Prince.'

“Hamas murders not only Israelis, but also Palestinians whose political stance is different from that which its group promotes,” he told MKs, “that is, its radical religious outlook in which Islam is the solution to the world's problems.”

Kara, who also met with the Knesset members, added, “Those who claim that what you see from there is not what you see from here in Israel, are mistaken, and Yousef is an authentic witness to it, with his own original words. It seems that it will take generations until the other side in the Arab world and the Palestinian street will internalize the need for human rights, freedom of speech and mutual acceptance and respect.”

Sorry, kid. Prepare to be honor killed for converting to infidelism. Your punishment in the hereafter is that you'll be a virgin, and the favorite plaything of a fish-smelling, pimply little fart face who got shot because he refused to drop a knife, believing Allah will protect him.

The “Palestinians’ are pawns, their cause has been exploited, but not so much by the Israelis. It seems like no one has hurt the “Palestinians” more than the Arab nations and the terrorist organizations they fund. Too bad they didn’t accept the Partition in the beginning and kept the Arab nations and Soviets out of their affairs. They might have even become a democracy (republic)and enjoyed the same prosperity and freedom as the Israelis. Too bad, too bad.

Not likely. They’d probably have become another military dictatorship, then get Arab spring sprunged, and then become another Islamic dictatorship. The only Arab country that might remain a democracy for long is Iraq, and that (Iraq) is all Bush’s fault./sarc on last sentence only.

You might be right there. I don't think Islam is compatible with democracy, really. Iraq and Turkey were somewhat secularized; they did a little better. Think though, besides the conflict with terrorists, the Israelis, to their credit, have done very well. They say that mimicry is the greatest form of complement. The "Palestinians" sure don't want to complement Israel even to their peril.

I work in the scientific field, and know many muslim scientists; smart people all of them, with much to offer to improving the human condition. Most of them quite Americanized, but mostly from India. They're not from Saudi,Syria,Jordan,Iraq,Egypt. There are a few from Iran; very nice people. But in the middle east, it's a shame, that all of that lost potential is down the pooper because they can't think about something besides hating Israel. What a waste. Sheesh! I pray for those people that they stop hating Jews and start thinking about their own future and that their land become just as beautiful as Israel.

I’d like that, too. Even the simple palis can do all sorts of amazing things, like balance prodigious burdens on their heads, throw rocks across half a football field, and handle animals skillfully. But until Mad Mo is totally discredited in their eyes, they are congenitally dysfunctional. The idea that if they only had their own country and kicked all the Jooos! out everything would be hunky dory is insane. When they had no external enemies, the Qys and Yemen feud drove whatever positive impulses they had into the dessert to die of thirst. The Jooos! came in the 19th Century and rescued them from themselves. Now we are hated BECAUSE we can and want to rescue them from themselves. Cousins. Hmph.
