The carrier groups are already there. By my count the Bush and the Lincoln are near by. A stupid move by any particular dumbass would bring “severe corrective action” whether Obamuzzie liked it or not.

I don’t think it is Israel.
The greatest threat to both China and Russia is Islam. They want to keep it in check. China’s #1 priority is stability. When you have a billion and a half people in your country, you have keep them from getting pissed off at you. Muslims cause trouble in China.
Russia has a bad history with the Muslims.
They don’t want to lose Syria to the radicals.

Russia has indeed always wanted that north/south Iranian rail line. Remember how we used it during WW II to supply the backside of Russia with trucks, aluminum, etc.? I don’t see the downside of Putin explaining to the Mullahs that they’d be running the railroad for awhile.

Always, always, ALWAYS remember there are something north of 300 million PRIVATE firearms in this country. The other guys know that in spades. They all remember Admiral Yamamoto warning his own high command that a land invasion of north America would be suicidal because it would face a gun behind every bush. It pees ‘em off just as much as it bothers some in our own gov’t but it is our largest ace-in-the-hole as long as the owners stand ready to use them. That is the largest collection of private firepower in the known universe and no one, repeat NO ONE,is going to challenge it on the ground.

you are correct (imho) of your assessment. Everyone has to have the oil for their economic engines to run. Everyone will show up for the oil. It was simply a matter of time and timing. Kind of reminds one of the conductor shouting, “All Aboard!” zer0 is the conductor cause only fools would want him driving the train.

don’t know about the thought of nobody wanting to challenge us on the ground. They might would leave us to ourselves in the dark for say six months to a year, and if our Military was allowed to we might turn off other countries lights ourselves, if our Military was allowed to. If our Military was not allowed to ... it makes it an entirely different game. Of course once some, in our Military, found out there would be heck and death for their commanders. Lots of variables, and one can guess what our current cic would do. He works for the enemy. Now six months to a year in the dark and it would only amount to a mop up operation to invade the United States (imho). Worst case scenario of the worst case scenarios yet one which (imho) has to be considered, if one is serious regarding surviving in lights out conditions.

"Do you truly think we owe the Chinese so much that the possibility of obtaining all US natural resources through an attack is off the table. We have so many assets that I cannot imagine Russia and China not considering it. Seems to be a ripe time to attempt to conquer America... We are divided, broke, militarily weakened. I think our natural resources AND making yourself top global dog, far outweigh any debts we owe China. Russia, China and Iran are not certainly sitting around the table simply discussing Syria."

Don't believe your hypothesis for a second. The world is too economically enter-twined. Yes, some leaders of China and Russia want more power, but not at the cost of losing their economic advantage.

Forget the "cold war" and think. Why would China or Russia want to destroy their greatest economic importer? Why would they want to destroy their biggest debtor? They don't, but they do want more face and become more powerful in their regions. Fine, let them have them. We have numerous Tridents out there with the ability to destroy them and even the planet if they attack!

Everyone forgets about them. Most think ICBM's and bombers. Thankfully, China and Russia don't forget about our Tridents.

GO NAVY!

"If I’m right, Russjie is going to come down hard, as in with an iron boot, in the ME and say... deal me in."

Agreed. Putin wants to look powerful, especially now that the USA has a weak president.

Still, since I'm no expert, what is the down side of Russia supporting the Syrian regime, other than they support terrorists? The US will still trade with Russia, and they will still be on the Security Council of the UN (f**k the UN), and still have nuclear weapons.

So someone tell me why we should care if Syria remains status quo? Even if they have their "Arab Spring", how good will that be?

Personally, the only nation I give a sh*t about in that region is Israel. What ever it takes to protect a freedom -loving democratic ally is what the US should be about. Screw every sick Muslim nation in the area. I couldn't care less if they all find allah tomorrow, and yes, I mean ALL of them.
