Something’s up at J.C. Penney.
After the closing bell, the department-store operator announced President Michael Francis was leaving, effective today, after only eight months on the job.
Shares dropped 6.5% in after-hours trading to $22.75 in after-hours trading. The stock is down nearly 50% since early February.

I like JCP to shop. I rarely watch TV so I’ve never seen “gay ads” from them, but didn’t they begin a mktg strategy of “everyday low prices, no sales”? Was that Francis’ idea? The article doesn’t attribute his ousting to any particular thing, but I think that whole campaign pretty much backfired.
I’m sure he got a good severance package.
Some other PC company will pick him up on waivers.

Well my friend (she’s an avid christian) works for JCP and hate for her to lose her job. Let the gay loving management lose theirs instead. Old man Penney would be rolling in his grave to see this pervy nonsense come to his stores.

I was in Penneys last weekend. I had a gift card to spend.
First salesperson I ran into I asked
“Where’s the leather boutique?”-
She understood,and looked sympathic.

I really like JC Penny, too. I can get nicer (thicker) t-shirts for the fellas for a darn good price, many times better than the prices at Wally-world and they are of thicker material and better quality.
They have Dockers and such for a good price and it is cleaner than Wally World. Also, JCP is fantastic for low-cost drapes and such.

Maybe SelectComfort. Since SCSS went all PC on Rush’s description of a whore as a whore, they’ve completely reorganized their marketing department. And their stock price is down about 25%.

I think it was a Rasmussen Poll that showed that only 2% - 3% of Americans are gay. (It seems like more because of their in-your-face militantism.) And 75% of Americans are opposed to homosexuality. You’d think this Penney exec would’ve done his due diligence before venturing on this theme. Nothing like pissing off 75% by catering to 2% of ‘em.
In the last catalog we got, there was a full two-page spread of boys/young men - about six of them. Not one caucasion in the bunch; all were black (maybe one/some Hispanic). Per Juan Williams, only about 8% of the population is black. Again... they’re catering to less than 10% of ut Americans.
How stupid IS this guy? No big shock they’re sinking like a rock.
